Sunny Side Cafe

Sandwiches were decent, but they took 40 minutes to make 3 sandwiches, and they were out of fries, and their $10.50 Caesar salad was a cup of lettuce with some dressing on top. Barely bigger than the side of lettuce that came with the sandwiches. Mostly disappointed with the wait. Maybe they were very short staffed today, but they didn't warn us until after we'd ordered. Won't be coming back.

Horrible place, walk away. Agree with previous reviews. Hostess, who is also the only waitress is mentally unstable, as she started throwing utensils and breaking glasses, not accidentally, after a quiestion was asked why one simple omelet order was taking almost over 25 min. She offered no discount or even a cop of coffee and started threatening to call police. Complete circus and almost a full nut house, laughable, food quality was also bad, judging by the leftovers left by other tables. Would never come back.

Please do not trust the positive reviews. I don't know, maybe years ago things were different, but right now the service is terrible and slow, cups are dirty, and the food is mediocre (to be polite), and undercooked. We were looking for a weekend breakfast spot in Berkeley. We will have to keep looking because this is by far the worst breakfast restaurant we have ever been to.

I was frankly very disappointed. I ordered scrambled eggs for the kids that took 40 mins to arrive and seemed like something they just threw on a plate. We also ordered the veggie pesto sandwich but the pesto was nowhere to be seen; the breakfast burrito was okay but had more beans and potatoes than eggs. The freshly squeezed OJ and the coffee was fantastic - we did not try their pancakes or french toast since we were disappointed with the food that had arrived already. This was our worst dining experience of the weekend and we will definitely not recommend this place to folks with kids or vegetarians
