Big open and airy. Caffe Chiave is a great place get some coffee and a morning bite. The owner
/operators keep a nice place with a lot of fresh air that I know is appreciated by those who want to bring home what they went out for. Trieste is gone in Berkeley but the place Johnny left still has friendly smiles at the counter.

I was have my car serviced a few blocks away. I had a Mocha while sitting in the sun at one of their tables.
The coffee was great!!! If I am in the area and wanting coffee--I would come here.

A simple breakfast and coffee place. A lot of charm and ample seating. Delicious baked goods. Great coffee. Service was a tad slow but otherwise helpful and friendly. Parking can be a task at times, but hey, it's Berkeley .

Have them make you a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with egg, ham, mozzarella and pesto. It is the bee's knees. I had mine with a beer which is one of the reasons why I love this place so much.

I came here one afternoon after class to study. I ordered a chai latte and a slice of cheese cake. The cake was delicious! Not too heavy and the crust had just the right crunch. The chai was also very tasty.

Cute little place and the baked goods look super tasty! Didn't try them, bought an iced latte and honestly? Not a hit. Its so sweet and only tastes like milk.. no coffee. Probably won't revisit since the service wasn't very friendly either during ordering.
