I found this restaurant on my search for a giant cinnamon roll following months of strict eating for a bodybuilding competition the night prior. I drove out of my way home to get takeout and eat as I continued my trip home. I am SO SO happy I did and I plan to visit as often as I can! I ordered at the front desk and it was probably the quickest service I've ever received. Once I placed my order they quickly returned within 5-10 minutes with my to-go cinnamon roll and biscuits and gravy meal. Photos with plastic fork for size reference of cinnamon roll. Both the meal and the cinnamon roll were absolutely amazing and I can't wait to visit again!

This restaurant is American food only. The food was pretty basic my pancake was hard to cut with a fork. Taco salad had stale tortilla chips. Bacon had a weird taste to it. I asked for a medium-well-done egg & received a well-cooked egg? The staff was friendly & attentive to their customers & our table. Customer service was 5/5 stars the food wasn’t the best American food I’ve eaten. Food Quality was 2/5 based on flavor & texture. The pancake had 0 flavor bacon tasted gross. 5/5 stars for customer service. Thank You, to the friendly staff but food needs seasoning & flavoring! Pancakes should be fluffy, not rubbery. Add vanilla to the mix would be a nice genuine flavor.

I just had such a great first experience at Lil John’s. Walked into a packed, lively restaurant, was greeted immediately, and invited to sit at the counter since I was by myself and there were no tables available. An ice water was popped in front of me right away, my order taken as soon as I had decided (chicken fried steak) and the food was delivered a surprising three minutes later. Everything was piping hot and fresh, so they must have a great system back there to get food out quickly. It was delicious!! I loved the food, the vibe, and the quick and friendly service. It seems like good service in restaurants is getting kind of rare with all the staffing issues, but here they had plenty of staff ready to take care of you. I cannot believe I’ve lived around here my whole life and never knew this gem existed! I will definitely be back very soon!

Our American brunch spot on the eastside. The Breakfast Sandwich with a delicious Sausage Patty, Egg & Cheese on an English Muffin is something I can eat all day! Liked their Veggie omelet with all veggies which comes with Hashbrowns and buttered toast!. Liked the omelet when dining in than the one I had during take-out. The least favorite was the Chicken Sandwich, the fried chicken was a little dry and not to our liking. plenty of parking options available!

Must have caught them on a bad morning. Server was rude from the start. We sat for at least 20 minutes before getting our orders taken. We didn't get water until about 25 minutes in. Ordered the Denver omelette. Food was ok, hashbrowns undercooked, but the eggs benedict was disgusting. Huge chunk of eggshell in it. They did remove it from the ticket though, but only after the server and host whispered something back and forth between eachother and laughed about how our table must have been difficult. What was really difficult was paying $45 bucks for poor quality food served by unpleasant people.

I had NO idea this place existed. Pulling into the parking lot for a strip mall, the retro 60's Era sign caught my attention. The building design looked like a cross between Samba's, Denny's and Howard Johnson's it had that vibe of a highway diner that should be part of a chain now long forgotten, but somehow missed the notice that they should have gone out of business decades ago. And you will be happy they are still around. The red vinyl seats, the clink of dishes, the hub bub of diners as they casually chat intermingled with the happy laugh of a child someplace. Hearty meals, excellent quality and an atmosphere that made you *PART OF* the nearly Norman Rockwell experience. The food is excellent. The sort of good food that a belch two hours later has you smiling in memory. I eagerly look forward to my next visit. Five stars is not enough to properly thank this establishment for their performance.
