A 3.5-low 4. Rating was based on service seemed a tad messy and slow (bunch of folks all waiting outside with their orders submitted to having an employee come out as we all look to her and hope we all remember who ordered before us in line). The pastry itself is good - deep fried pastry dough (rather think dough and more on the crispy side) with a lot of loaded toppings of your choice. The cost of a beavertail ranges from $6.25-$8.25 dependent on choice. There is also oddly enough, ice cream and poutine options at this location.
For those visiting, don't get me wrong, it's worth trying. For those who grew up with beavertails around, it was ok but I've had some with more dough than a thin crisp of a beavertail. The service could be improved as well.
No eating spot inside. It's a order, wait and eat elsewhere type of place.

We had a sugar craving. This place is always an easy choice! Bananarama and the Apple pie are the go tos for our family. Sorry we ate them as soon as we got them, so no pics. We also recommend having wet naps on hand cuz sticky fingers and regular paper napkins just leave you with sticky fingers with bits of paper.

BeaverTail Banff east location is smaller compared to the west location however the line isn't as long here. We had gotten 2 different types of BeaverTail pastries and ice cream and they were all delicious. It can get messy to eat but that's the beauty of enjoying yummy treats.

Good pastries. Beaver bites (beaver tail balls topped with gelato and hazelnut sauce) were good although we were expecting more pastry to gelato ratio like the picture implied. Our group loved the classic beavertail and one that was dressed up. Good times with gluttony.

Sooo good! I thought it was the perfect size just because I have no self control and I would not be able to stop eating it if it were larger.<br/><br/>They are pretty much just an elephant ear with toppings on it. I got half banana chocolate & half skor cheese cake, and it was bomb.<br/><br/>A must try if you're in Banff.<br/><br/>Edmonton has a Beaver Tail food truck but it's hard to come by.<br/><br/>

Beavertails are awesome!!!! So many flavours to choose from, a little pricy but it's a tourist area. Love the oreo and the apple cinnamon!! A must try when visiting Banff!

It was packed in the restaurant despite the weather and time of day. We got the skor cheesecake beavertail, and it was quite messy but absolute heaven. Definitely gonna try more flavours next time we make a trip into Banff!

It was very decadent. The dough was to thin for my liking but it was still very delicious. The service was poor. Place was nice and clean. Btw they do not serve ice cream starting around mid October.

This is a must do in Banff. The warmth of the beavertails melds perfectly with the cold weather. Try the cinnamon and sugar or chocolate hazelnut for two nice flavours. Highly recommended.

YES! IT'S THAT GOOD!!<br/>I think we've all had Elephant Ears before... greasy, soggy, sugary. Well...beavertail is the much more refined, perfected version (and frankly: tastier). You can pick any of the toppings you would like, up to three when creating your own and 1 spread. It was wonderful. fried perfectly and evenly and my mouth is drooling just thinking about it....<br/>I chose hazzlenut chocolate spread, banana and god knows what else as well as chocolate syrup and caramel and the list goes on.... just look at the pictures and you will understand my love for this treat!

I ordered a single scoop of gelato and it looked like this for about $4.00. Unimpressed with wait times and the price for a sorry excuse of gelato. It wasn't even a full scoop. My friend enjoyed her beaver tail.

I love this place. Must go place when you visit Banff! There are two locations in Banff downtown. They also have icecream and poutine etc. The people who work there are always delightful and nice.

Hot and sweet calorie hit. Just climbed Sulphur mountain. Needed a calorie hit after the 2500m elevation. Walk was 5 km long up hill. We got 4 beaver tails for C $25. Loved the maple syrup flavour. lovely fried crust. Like a tail shaped fried pizza but sweet. Could do more of these.

Loving my Mango Ice Cream In Banff : ). When I am in Banff , which is alot , my very first stop and I mean first stop is BeaverTails , I can't get enough of the Mango Ice Cream , and when I am back home I miss not having your Ice Cream lol , no other place has it tasting this good : )

Seriously for all the good reviews this place had, I was looking forward to trying this treat when we came to banff. First way to small to even sit and enjoy it when the weather is chilly, we had to walk back to our truck to eat it. It just tasted like something deep fried you get at the circus or exhibition and even some of their stuff is better......Disappointed...

It’s not the same as the elephant ear you get at carnivals, it’s a beaver tail. I remember my first was in Ottawa as a child, my uncle nearly had me convinced it was actually our nation’s furry mascot’s tail beaten down and fried. It also happens to be one of the most delicious snacks you can have in Banff, the only store of the franchise in Alberta.

Mmmmm BeaverTails. What a great dessert, we had two different beaver tails, we probably should of just shared one they are pretty big. You can get a bunch of different flavors on them and there is surely something to tickle anyone's fancy, from kids to adults don't miss out on a great dessert!

BeaverTails is a franchise that sells flat fried pastries with a choice of different toppings. The dough is stretched and shaped by hand to look like a beaver's tail. I visited the location in Banff, right in the heart of the city on Banff Avenue. There's nothing better than a piping hot pastry on a cold and rainy morning! The menu is simple; there are 9 different flavours to choose from. Or you can "create your own tail" with your choice of toppings. Toppings include fruit and assorted candies, as well as cinnamon sugar and various sauces. The BeaverTail pastry is made fresh to order. A flattened piece of dough is dropped into the deep fryer and left to float until it's golden brown. I ordered the Killaloe Sunrise ($5.23) which came with cinnamon sugar and a wedge of lemon. As mentioned, I really love this place. I think it’s perfect for any season. When it’s cold out, you can enjoy a BeaverTail and when it’s hot out, you can enjoy a frozen treat… and everything in between! So, believe me, I will be back every time I go to Banff!

If you are Canadian or a John Pinette fan (or both) you may already know about Beaver Tails. If you are neither of these, you need to know that Beaver Tails are delicious fried flat slabs of dough. You can have them plain, but why would you? I like mine topped with cinnamon, sugar and lemon juice.

Delicious, doughy, crispy goodness! I always get the chocolate banana which is a nutella spread with freshly sliced banana on top. What a perfect combination!! My friend has had the beaverbites(she didn't like it as much as the beavertails), skor cheesecake(she thought it was too sweet), and the cinnamon/sugar(her favorite). If you have a sweet tooth and enjoy your desserts..you must try!!

Beaver Bites!. I had the 7 beaver bites (round mini beaver tails of cinnamony goodness) with red bull gelato, and caramel sauce on top. my friend picked it out and i thought it would be gross, but it was SO GOOD. the warmth from the bites mixed with the cold icecream so well. its really well displayed. i ate it in the dark so i dont have a photo of the dish, but heres a photo of how well displayed the gelato is. MY NEW FAVORITE DISH!
