The service that we received was exceptional and the food was if I'm being honest, just alright. The gravy kind of had a dishwasher type taste and the chicken was very battered and coated but it didn't have a lot of a meat flavor. While this is a very old restaurant I do believe that the menu might need a little bit more of a revamping or have more ingredients that will give the food a more flavourful taste. For now I will stick to going to fat boys, But if I wanna go to a sit down restaurant and enjoy my time with the company that I have that I would recommend this place. The location itself is also pretty convenient.

Awesome Texas food and vibe! Cooking was perfect! Loved the John Wayne room. Chicken Fried Steak was tender and crispy... hashbrowns were crunchy and amazing... pancakes were aromatic, flavorful, fluffy, and huge! They were very busy, and we had a party of 18... they managed to get us in quickly and had friendly service. We can't wait to return.

I've been to O.S.T. twice now and enjoyed it both times. It's a classic old-school Texas joint (100 years definitely qualifies as "old-school.") The chicken fried steak is top notch; I had it both times. Delicious cream gravy. Steak breaded and cooked well. Fries were excellent. Ample portions and comes with a trip to the salad bar, which also included some wonderful homemade banana pudding. My mother loved the John Wayne room. Service was very good. I'll be back and look forward to trying other dishes. Burgers look great.

This is the second time we've been here and we love it! Chicken fried steak is a must try! The portions are huge, and the prices are very fair. The atmosphere is fun and the staff is wonderful. My only complaint is that the salad bar doesn't have a whole lot of options, I'd love to have some boiled eggs but it's not a deal breaker.

We came because of high ratings. We like nostalgia so this place did not disappoint. However, between my wife's chicken taco salad, my western burger with onion rings, and the coconut cream pie. Only the pie would interest enough to stop here again. Nothing was bad. But, only the pie would justify a break in our travels.
