Ric's Kitchen

Wow, thank the lord for Ric’s and another delivery service! (I happened to not use it this evening because I needed to pop to town but paid as if I had!!!) the pizza 🍕 was amazing! I cannot recommend enough! Photo evidence of half way through. Get yourself the best pizza base, best authentic toppings for a pizza in town! 🍕🥳

We found Ric’s when visiting family in the area wanted somewhere for brunch which could cater for everyone form grandparents to a toddler - Ric’s didn’t disappoint. The venue is surprising, in the best possible way. From the front you’d never realise that hidden inside is a cosy, tasteful and relaxed restaurant / bar. There were big family sized tables for people like us or those wanting to catch up with friends, there were little intimate nooks and bar seating too. Plus it’s always re-assuring when the chef and kitchen are visible from your seat and you can see (and smell) your food being freshly prepared. The staff were friendly and welcoming (and very kind in getting pencils and paper to occupy our curious toddler) but the nicest surprise was the food itself. Like the venue, the menu is small but perfectly formed. There’s enough choice to make it slightly difficult to pick, but small enough that you know they’re going to do everything well - they really did. To put it quite simply, the food is a cut above your average high-street cuisine. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the ingredients is outstanding. We had clean plates all round and even decided we’d sample the desserts from the chalkboard. The only disappointment was that we arrived in time for brunch, but I spied the ‘Evening Tapas’ menu whilst there and that looks even better than the breakfast and lunch menu (along with the list of cocktails on the blackboard!). So now we’re going to have to go back for an evening meal next time we visit.

If there were more stars I’d give Ric the lot. What a great guy and terrific chef who has worked in France and Spain, and is now making his particular magic in deepest darkest Devon. Supported by his lovely wife who is also an accomplished chef making great pastries, and a further team of enthusiastic and knowledgable people makes this a real treat for a fun night. And we happened to be here on one of his music nights with Benjamin Haycock (google him) and the place has a great atmosphere. Gosh could it be any better, of course, my lovely wife Lea was sitting by my side, so it was perfect. We will be back Ric. Michael

Camping in Axmouth and took some time choosing a place for a brunch stop on a cycle around the local area, glad I did as this is a gem of a place! Ric's Kitchen is exactly what this sort of place should be, well put together, independent and owner run - Ric is indeed the man in the kitchen! I had The Full English which I found the perfect size for a mid-cycle fill-up, my partner had the Brie, bacon and cranberry toastie and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Also looks like it'd be a great place for an evening visit, cocktail menu looked very inviting, not sure I'd be able to cycle back afterwards though! Ric, thanks for introducing yourself and personally checking we were happy with everything, great to see a place like yours doing well, long may it continue, hopefully without everyone always turning up at the same time!

A must visit in Axminster! The evening tapas was incredible & helped down with some amazing cocktails, and we really did attempt to sample the whole menu :) i really cannot recommend this restaurant enough and will definately be returning. the staff where super friendly ontop of previous confrimation they could cater for my partners severe nut allergy Ric even came out on arrival to personally guarantee he had thoroughly cleaned and checked all the ingredients to ensure the Kitchen was nut free which we was both very taken back by as its a first at any restaurant.
