Oriental Cafe

First off there was a smell inside that I can only describe as old mop water, second no one greeted us or came to seat us or ask if we wanted to place an order until we had been there for at least 4 min. An older gentleman came from the back spoke and seated us. All the while a young lady and man walked around and talked amongst themselves. We overlooked the smell because the reviews were favorable towards the food. The food was very enjoyable. We would eat here again but we would get it to go next time. The lack of customer service and the odd smell is my basis for three stars. The first photo is my husband's plate of Lunch special #27 and my plate was lunch special #28 with fried rice. My husband had egg soup and I wonton. We also ordered Super Crunch Roll Sushi. I enjoyed the sushi just wasn't expecting the actual eel to be on it. My husband liked the eel so I gave him mine.

We've been eating here for over 12 years and have loved it. The last few times (over a year and a half) we've noticed the food quality begin to go down. Chicken pieces weren't as good; sauce wasn't right. Chips (those crispy things they serve with the meal) were stale. But the value was still unbeatable. This last time, last week, will probably be our last. The chicken and sesame flavor was really bad. The crab rangoons were uneatable, as the crab part was chalky and bland. They were definitely using a different supplier, because the food itself was simply different than in the past. I've had better crab rangoons in the frozen section at Kroger. Finally, they have reduced the serving size by over a half. If you've eaten here before, you know how they packed chicken into those black containers. Huge serving sizes. For my wife and four kids, it was a great value! No more. The containers are half the size, and contain less than half the food as before. Taste, quality and value are all gone. At this point, we won't be going back.

The sushi here is my favorite! Rocky volcano is just so darn delicious!! I almost hurt myself from eating too much every time I visit! Also really great Chinese dishes and other items for the kids with picky taste buds. They serve a good selection of beer and wine as well and always have friendly service! Thanks Oriental Cafe!
