Wendy's

The food is consistent. It's good as far as fast food goes and my kid with a bunch of food allergies caneat their french fries. The employees have a hard time with coupons (two locations) they say the price of a side of "fresh fruit) is $1.99 even though it is listed on the menu (inside and outside of two locations) as .99. Also the owner's politics leave a lot to be admired.

Walked out without ordering because an employee was audibly complaining about how everyone there came in close to closing time. I just worked an 8 hour night shift, but I definitely won't be giving my business to this place after a late night shift ever again. I'll go somewhere that appreciates the business.

I love Wendy's. The 444 is the best deal of the century. I will never forget when I found out about the 444. I was sitting on the toilet, crying because I just found out the football team found a better waterboy to replace me. Then all of a sudden I got a notification from CNN, The New York Times, and The Washington Post with the headline "Wendy's Brand new 444 is real good u should try 1 rn" I immediately wiped the tears from my face and booked it out of the bathroom, pants still around my ankles. When I got to the Wendy the cashier said "wow u are the first one to order this. Hold on there's someone who wants to meet u." All of a sudden I felt a big warm hand place itself on my shoulder, followed by a booming voice that said "well hello young man". I turned around and my jaw hit the floor. Standing right in front of me was the owner of Wendy's, Mr. Wendy! He shook my hand and told me that he appreciates my support and that the 444 was in fact the deal of the century. Then he told me that he would grant me 1 wish with no rules. I thought real hard and long but nothing came to mind. But then I started thinking about the football team, and how horribly they treated me. I knew in my heart Wendy's would never treat me that way, so I leaned into Mr Wendy's ear and whispered "I wish with all my heart to be the best waterboy in the whole wide world." He thought about it for a second, then looked at me with a big smile and tears in his eyes and replied "My dear boy, you already are..." He hugged me tight, shook my hand again, pulled out four $1 bills, handed them to me and said "this one's on the house :)" I'll never forget the night I met Mr. Wendy, and the best meal of my life...

If you go at 2:00 a.m., expect a wait, because this is a popular location for drunk food. They still manage to keep the line moving along fairly quickly considering the flood of people who show up as the uptown bars close. If you're popping in for lunch, however, expect to be in and out in about 90 seconds. It's small and essentially a shotgun layout, and there's no drive-through at the location. They are also not open during university breaks, and have very limited summer hours.
