I live two blocks away so it's convenient. I'm really picky about my Asian food ... having lived in Hawaii for many, many years. Food is traditional, not Americanized or franchise goop. It's consistent in quality, portions are huge man-sized, and cooked to order. The owners are wonderful and friendly. I consider China 1 the best restaurant in Athens.

I love eating from this place. The price and food is always good. I place orders usually online and go pick them up myself and I usually put that I have a shrimp allergy in the comments. I've never had any issues but when I did it this time about a few minutes into eating my food I noticed my throat started to get a swollen feeling and started to hurt which means I ate something I'm allergic to. Again this is never happened before but I'm worried to go back if I end up eating food that's come in contact with shrimp. So if you have allergies it would be best to call and let them know because I don't know if they read the comments for online orders.

I’m really picky about how meat is prepared, I think most people are, and especially that any and ALL fat is trimmed away and this place never disappoints! That will strike a restaurant off my list fast and I’ve been ordering from China One for years. I always get the Mongolian chicken and it’s excellent, can’t recommend enough but they also do an excellent on the egg rolls, spring rolls, lo mein, fried rice, and I can’t even say how good their crab rangoons are-be careful because it’s so easy to eat way too many they’re that good. I’ve never eaten inside so I can’t speak for that but I’ve picked up and they’re always really nice and they are quick to call and make sure they understand your order correctly, my favorite Chinese take out in Athens.
