Jerry's Again

We were visiting Atchison and wanted a local place to eat. I found Jerry's Again and did some research. What I found on Facebook and the internet made me excited to try this place out. After a wonderful tour of Atchison, we were excited to have lunch at Jerry's Again. The place is a bar and restaurant that has a great decor and atmosphere and feels more like a restaurant than a bar. The waitress was cordial, efficient and attentive even though she was very busy. We ordered, soup, salads, the polish sausage sandwiches, the daily chicken special and the chocolate cream pie. The waitress indicated the chicken/dumpling special was 'served over mash potatoes'; it was a chicken and dumpling soup, that would have been tasty if it didn't have a lot of grease on the top; two bites was all we could stomach. The broccoli cheese soup looked like a dip and although it was unusually thick, tasted good. The 'polish sausage' looked and tasted like a hot dog. It was disappointing as I was looking forward to an actual polish sausage sandwich. The Oriental salad had chicken pieces that had a great crunchy texture on the outside but weren't as tender as they could be on the inside. The Mexican salad and Chocolate cream pie were outstanding! The waitress saw the uneaten items and asked if everything 'was ok' so I made her aware of our reasons for not eating them and she didn't charge us for them. The place was full so it makes me think many people enjoy their food, the waitress was attentive and nice, the place is in a nice location and has a great atmosphere so I'm going to hope, that next time, everything will be as good and amazing as the pie.

I'm going to Rate Jerry's Again for what it is - The food is good, and the prices are fair. The staff has always been friendly, and the atmosphere is good. Do I wish they had better (longer) hours and served dinner? Of course I do, but that's not a reason to knock them down in a review. Their hours are what their hours are. If you want amazing pie, or great fried chicken (on Thursdays) head here. You won't be sorry - just be sure you're there between 11 and 3 on weekdays.

Great place in a small town to have lunch. The menu is small but has a good variety of items. Set in an older building, among home décor items for sale. A large bar and a staff that will cater to a large party of event at the location. Definitely a local favorite. I only wish they would warm the roll that comes with the chicken noodle soup special.

The soup and sandwich was very tasty. Only one piece of coconut cream pie and one slice of strawberry. The coconut was good, but the strawberry was bland. It was announced to us that the restaurant closes at 2:00 and we would have to leave soon. We traveled from out of town, no exceptions. Done this and won't do it again.
