Las Catrinas

Can you say “las Catrinas” after a few of these delicious must cocktails , in a gringo acento ? This is and will be an Astoria icon. When the aliens arrive , this will be their first stop , bc the food and drinks its out of this world. The service here is unmatched. I’ve been here three times and the service is excellent. I ordered the chicken tinga taco, fish taco and shrimp taco (in photo). All were excellent! Very fresh and tasty. The salsas pack a punch and the frozen hibiscus margarita is well-made, I refuse to try anything else. It’s flavorful and not overwhelmingly sweet at all, which I love. The only reason I’m rating a 4/5 is because on taco Tuesday I came back and I bravely ordered a steak taco and a birra taco (without the consume), though the birra taco had a lot of filling, I found them quite dry and underwhelming with flavor (these tacos aren’t in the photo). It was nice to get the taco Tuesday deal buy 2 get 1 free and I love how they serve bright crisp radish slices to accompany the tacos as well as juicy fresh limes. I still look forward to returning and ordering the taco selection that I like. The guacamole was great as well.

If you're in Astoria you must visit this place. Great delicious margaritas, the watermelon mezcalita is the 💣 💣, food is delicious, fish n shrimp tacos yum yum, the guac n chips r delish too. the establishment is clean, great vibe n the service is awesome. They have a great selection of happy hours (top shelf) n food.

It was the Mexican Independence Day, and was recommended this restaurant by my brother. It was a Friday evening and it was very busy, so we had no choice and opted for the outside dinning experience... Did not disappoint.... Carolina was our server, she was very friendly and cheerful, we began with a couple of Margaritas, Passion fruit and the Regular, strong and savory. Our appetizer began with the Tostones guac and pico de gallo (make sure to add Shrimp), great combo also asked for the Shrimp Aguachile, a top notch, must try recommendation... For our main course, we chose the Mole and Red Steak Enchiladas... The red sauce was amazing, was not too spicy, but Carolina promptly resolved that situation by bringing a side of Habanero sauce... Ufffff Muy Caliente 🥵, Muy Delicioso.... Did i mention the margaritas? Make sure to add the Don julio, some say its a sacrilege to fuse it with the margarita, but for me, it works... Thanks Catrinas for an enjoyable evening, didn't give it a 5 star because I was expecting some Mexican Music in the background but hey who notices anyway right?! Solid evening, Delicious food, strong drinks, good company, excellent staff... Well Done Catrinas, will come back again... hopefully ill give it the last pending ⭐️...
