Vinnie's is old-school Italian in ambiance and service. The food is exceptionally delicious, and servers were all warm, professional, and friendly. We had lamb shanks bolonese with homemade pasta, and lobster bisque. Excellent! I kept expecting the owner to come out and sing us a song or two. 😊 The menu had so many delicious options, we'll be back to try them all!

it was our first time to Vinny's and Asheville. My wife wanted Italian so we started looking around and by the reviews we decided to give Vinnie's a try. we couldn't be happier that we did. My wife had the chicken parm. I had the lasagna portions. here are huge easily a shareable meal with the regular order. it was very busy as it was a Saturday night but the staff was super attentive and very cordial and easy to get along with.

I’d like to start out that their customer service is amazing and I always feel well taken care of here. The restaurant have a very nice atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious!! They have good portion sizes/big portions. Their garlic knots are my weakness, lots of yummy garlic and olive oil 🥰 I love their cannolis and chocolate torte deserts, definitely a must have or at least take it to go if you can’t eat it! My favorite thing there is the twice baked lasagna and it’s better than any restaurant lasagna I’ve ever had ❤️

Came in on a Tuesday I believe in the evening time, it was incredibly busy when we got there at 5:30. There was about a 30-45 minute wait and about an hour and a half to two hour wait from there to get our food. To be fair it was incredibly busy and our sever apologized about the wait and several times and provided us a free dessert for our wait. The spaghetti with Sunday gravy was ok but I’m sad to say I didn’t think it was that great. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo and thought it was quite good. The tiramisu we were given was good. Portions were very filling

I have enjoyed good meals at the original Vinnie's location on Merrimon, but hadn't been to the south location since they opened. I have been missing out. We were lucky to get two seats at the bar in October on a Friday night. When we put our names on the wait-list for a table (arriving just before 7pm), the estimate was an hour and a half wait. Not sure I would have stayed that long, but thank goodness we snuck into the bar by asking a gentleman to move over one and give us the corner seats. My friend and I shared everything we ordered, one appetizer, two entrees, a side salad and dessert. We had leftovers to go home with, enough for each of us to take a snack size portion of pasta. Everything was served in a timely fashion, although I wouldn't eat there on a weekend if you were in a hurry, but for a leisurely dinner that involved good conversation, it was perfect. The smoky tomato sauce served with the arancini was wonderful. Without it, I might have said the fried risotto balls were a little bland, but together they were tasty! The real standout for the meal was the chicken picatta. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly!!! Just done enough to be cooked through, but not cooked to the point that so many restaurants do where it is dry. The lemon caper sauce held together and was balanced, not too lemony and not too caper-y, and the garlic spinach was a great accompaniment, along with spaghetti noodles on the side. The pasta Bolognese had a great, simple red sauce. The meat was a tiny bit drier than I prefer, but it did not detract from the overall flavor of the dish. The pasta was cooked al dente, with just the right amount of bite to it. And now.... dessert! We were not planning to order dessert but the bartender highly recommended the special (I guess they don't do dessert specials that often). It was a deconstructed canolli, with an apricot jam and pistachio crumble. Wow, was it a great way to finish off the meal. Not too sweet, with a perfect texture on the layers of canolli 'shell'. The atmosphere was busy and sitting at the bar, there were a few times where people were leaning over our shoulders to order drinks while they waited, but it didn't bother us. The wait staff and bar staff were always moving quickly but never once seemed frantic. They were friendly and professional and contributed to a great experience overall. I do wish they took reservations so I could plan for a special evening and time it out a little better. As long as your evening plans just involve dinner at Vinnie's though, expect to have a great experience!

Came here on Sunday and to my surprise this place was packed for Sunday. Hostess told us there will be 1 hr 30 mins wait and we decided to wait given high reviews on google and Yelp. However we were seated after 40 minutes for being there so I would say I am glad we decided to wait. Our server was very polite and respectful. Food was delicious. Their eggplant parmigiana is one of the best one I have tried so far, it was flavorful and lightly crunchy the way I liked. Would Highly recommend that you come visit this place. Overall 4.35/5 ⭐️

Great place to eat.. the food was fabulous and the bread was delicious too. My with had the Alfredo (very thick and cheesy) , and I had red sauce clam linguine which was awesome as well. The place is very busy witch is a testimony to the demand of quality Italian food. Oh .. the meat balls were good as well!
