Denny's

We went here becase power outage at home. The diner only had two other parties in the place. Thus, our waitress was able to give us stellar service. Kept the coffee mugs topped with hot fresh coffee (brewed a fresh pit just for us) and was able to deliver on special requests (I asked for my French fries cooked well done). The food tasted how I expected it to. I wish the chicken was juicier as it tasted slightly dry. The ketchup and honey Mustard sure helped though. My in-laws were satisfied with both of their meals. Overall, it averaged to about $20 per person which was more than I thought it would be, but it was a nice and quick bite out at a sit down restaurant as opposed to getting fast food. The whole menu is available all day which is a plus! Unique interior design as well. I could tell Dennys is invested in the local community because of the pictures on the wall.

Driving through with my husband in our Semi, we stopped for breakfast and COFFEE. rainy day and a slow start, we were feeling sleepy. The food was great, country fried steak and eggs, no complaints. Our server, Terri, was fantastic. She was engaging, and so funny. We enjoyed her so much. She kept the coffee flowing also. She was great. definitely will stop through again if in the area.

The woman who seated us kept coughing in her hands and didn't wash them, we asked for a high chair and she used her hands to sweep crumbs off and didn't wipe it down until we were going to use our own wipes. One of the orange juices had a hair in it and we asked to get a new one but I'm sure they just scooped it out, the hash browns weren't cooked the way we requested and the server acted rude when we asked to have it taken off the receipt even though they knew we never touched it. All in all, not a great experience.

So, this review is more to show appreciation for the staff! Come in later in the evening. It soon became obvious this location is most definitely understaffed! From all I can see there is one person in the kitchen and one waitress running the entire restaurant! The waitress is doing an absolutely amazing job! Not horribly busy but not slow, several big groups and a steady stream of people coming in. She has been nailing it! The food was decent, actually good as far as Dennys goes. Even slammed the service was prompt and she was very attentive. The issue here is lack of managment in my opinion! I have worked food service, when you are this short the manager should step in and help the team! Huge props again to the waitress!

The Denny's in Arlington has some of the best food. I eat here about once a month and the reason I keep comming back is because the food is always cooked the way I like it. They always use the right amount of gravy, eggs and meat are cooked properly and my food never tastes like it's been sitting around under a heat lamp. The staff are always friendly and provide ser ice with a smile. There is a small town atmosphere here so if you like quick and prompt service and are in a hurry you may want to eat elsewhere especially late evening or early morning. During the normal dinning hours they have more staff but slow times they may run with only a few employees......I'm always happy with my servers, always happy, will offer menu substitutes and add strawberries to your lemonade if that's the way you like it! The cooks do it right here! Everything tastes great and I'm never unhappy with my food.
