Aabee Express

We stopped to pick up dinner here. We split two kabob orders - one adana and the other vegetable along with an appetizer of pickles. All items were very tasty. The kabobs came with a very generous prob of rice, a piece of flat bread, and a grilled half tomato. The place is tucked behind the main Pentagon rite restaurants, family the parking lot with Harris teeter. It is very much worth hunting out. The food was very good and the value excellent. We would definitely get food here again. The food is all cooked fresh, so you need to allow 15-20 minutes. However, they have an extremely easy to use website for online ordering.

SYNOPSIS: Aabee is an absolute necessary part of my weekly diet. Great deal, huge portions, amazing flavor and quality ingredients. Eat here now! PRICE: My go-to order is a dinner chicken kabob meal with another skewer of chicken kabob. This meal runs me a little over $20 but easily serves as three dinner portions (~$7 per serving) or four lunch portions (~$5 per serving) for me. They also have an amazing lunch deal! FOOD: I eat here weekly and on good weeks, multiple times. Despite how often I come here, I have yet to receive an inconsistent meal. Every single visit entails juicy, flavorful meats and bountiful, fluffy, delicious saffron rice. What sets Aabee apart from the other kabob places is their attention to details. Beyond the amazing rice and meat, each meal also comes with a white sauce, green sauce, a piece of naan bread, and a roasted tomato. Every single component is absolutely stunning. I always ask for extra green sauce ($.50 and SO worth it). Their green sauce adds an extra kick of acidity that helps to further enhance and meld all the wonderful flavors together. Aabee also has dessert, drinks, and salads/sides. I get a tiramisu whenever I’m having a rough week and the meal + a tiramisu never fails to turn my day around. I’m thinking of looking for an apartment closer to my work and honestly, Aabee is a huge reason why I’m potentially thinking of renewing my lease in this area. The food here is THAT good. SERVICE: The owners of Aabee are experienced and friendly. Their joyful voice rings through the phone and overall, sets the tone of a great meal from beginning to end. I cannot sing higher praises!

Right of the bat let me tell you if there is one good Mediterranean food in town it is Aabee Express. Juicey, delicious and natural ingredients. I ordered Kabobs and since it was Thanksgiving I also ordered roasted turkey dinner for my family and everyone including picky children loved it. Their home-made bread is delicious and salads are so fresh. My compliments to the Chefs at Aabee Express. Well Done

Reza and Ana were very kind and were such a delight to talk to! The food here also is awesome. Huge portions and great taste! My husband and I ordered two but truthfully one would be double what we need! I really could tell they were passionate in what they do and it seems like they really put their heart into making their dishes. Only trying chains prior, I am normally not the biggest fan of kabob but this changed my mind. Wonderful takeout place I highly recommend!

I was just across the street to shop and decided to stop in to pick up dinner, not having heard of Aabee before. The owners were very friendly and I got the lamb kabob which was delicious. They let me know the lamb comes from New Zealand and it was very good and tender. I also tried the lentil soup which was very tasty. The huge portions make it worth the price. My new favorite kabob spot!

Decided to try this place a while back and I haven’t been disappointed. The food looks and tastes fantastic. In regard to the 1* review below, my food has always looked like in the pictures, if not better (because it ends up in my stomach). Portions are generous. They not only give you a good portion of meat but they give you a truckload of rice as well, perhaps that makes it look like there’s less meat in comparison, but definitely not worth complaining about in my book. The food is fresh, tasty, and keeps me coming back. What’s more, the owner and staff are friendly and responsive. They alsways ask how I’m liking the food and if there is anything they can do better. The mix of customer-centric service and great food is a nice change. Give them a shot, they are worth it.

Absolutely delightful local family business! Very motivated to serve quality food at reasonable prices for the area. My husband and I love eating at Aabee Express and the service is always on point. Having friendly, hard-working neighbors in the community who cook quick, affordable and exquisite food is a heaven-send. A single portion is more than enough for my husband and I to share and we definitely feel satiated after. The baclava is great, the soups are great, and the kebabs and rice are seasoned to perfection! Definitely one of my favorite eateries in the area. This is a definite must try!
