Abruzzi

Probably the very best linguini with clams I’ve ever had in my life. Spot on. Also, the fillet mignon was fantastic. Service was the right combination of casual Humboldt-meets Nice restaurant: making an effort, but still keeping it real. The atmosphere was warm and lively and mostly local clientele (visited in the winter, so the off-season). The basement setting added to a sense of intimacy in the fairly large establishment. Highly recommend.

Our favorite place to go when we're in Arcata. Excellent food and they treat you like you're their family. I had the carbonara and it was perfect also you must try the goat cheese stuffed ravioli on the appetizer menu it's the best thing you could put in your mouth. Looking forward to our next visit there

If you're interested in something above your typical Italian menu, Abruzzi is a wonderful choice. Every item on the menu is prepared and displayed with care. The atmosphere is that of a classy restaurant, but without the need for a suit and tie. The staff is an absolute pleasure and take care of things without issue. The duck is wonderful, as are most of the dishes on the menu (haven't experienced a bad dish yet). The warm olive appetizer was, however, something of a curiosity and disappointment. We were expecting something a bit out of the ordinary, but instead were treated to a very small portion of green olives just kind of lumped in a small bowl with a bit of warm oil to dress them. I'm still wondering why it's a paid item on the menu, as I would have expected something like that to come as a side garnish or free item. It seriously has me scratching my head wondering why it's on the menu, and why they charge so much for seemingly so little (I'll have to ask the next time I go). I bring it up because it stands out as an oddity, since most all the other appetizers and dishes are full portions and displayed carefully (even the kid's menu items), but the olives are just a few small olives in warm oil lumped in a small bowl. Olives aside, Abruzzi is an absolute treat and every enjoyable.
