Fatman's Pizza

My wife and I decided to hit Fatman's after not being there for a very long time. Life happens. Anyway, we met Tina 1 and Tina 2 in a totally revamped joint. (Like I said.......been a while.) They are the BOMB! Soooo nice and friendly and very funny! We love going places with character and the two Tinas have plenty of that! Love it! The place is now very open and lots more room to move around. It was not stifling hot as it was a long time ago. They even have a small stage for what we learned was Open Mic Night on Fridays, but we were there for lunch on Thursday. OMG! The food was outstanding! So much better than what we remembered before! I got Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and my wife got the Baked Ravioli with Marinara Sauce! Way better than we expected........OFF DA HOOK! And, my wife is still wanting to go back for more Beef Stroganoff soup...it was pretty tasty! She had never had it before and now it is one of her faves! The next day (Friday) my wife and I were running errands and decided to check out Open Mic Night and share some fries and rings for fun and a little date night! Tina 1 met us with a smile and remembered what we wanted to drink right away. We also noticed the place was getting full of people both young and old. Tina met each of them with a smile and hug to those she obviously knew (and there were many!) The fries and rings were great and the music from two guys playing guitar was nice and clear, but not too loud. This is the kind of place we love to visit and will definitely be back to taste what other changes they've made to the recipes! And, my wife says that she will be back to try each soup that they continue to make! Thank you, Tina 1 and Tina 2...you two are warm, friendly, helpful, and just make the place and made our hearts smile and laugh! Thank you, Fatmans! See you again, real soon!

I really liked the pizza - it's one of the best Chicago-style pizzas I've had! If you like lots (and I mean LOTS) of fresh toppings and cheese, you have to try the Fatman's Special Pizza. Each slice is a meal in itself. Typically, I can eat 3 slices, but with this pizza, I could only manage 1 1/2 slices. I really enjoyed the toppings right up to the 1/4 inch of the crust. Deliciousness to the last bitecrust. Deliciousness to the last bite!

I was greeted immediately. They make you feel like part of the family. The pizza was delicious. But I can not say enough about the soup and cheese cake. They informed me they have a new soup start every Tuesday. You can bet I will be there. I can't wait to try the chicken pot pie soup next week. You need to check this place out it is a hidden treasure.

UPDATE: We ordered a second time and asked for delivery. They did not tell us that there would be a $12 delivery charge or that we would be charged 4% fee for using a credit card. So the medium pizza we ordered which is $26 on the menu ended up costing $42 plus a $6 cash tip for the driver. A $48 medium pizza! We called thinking we were double billed and that's when we learned about all the upcharges. So if you do want to try Fatman's, eat in and pay cash. But you won't find us there as we will not patronize their business. All they had to do was tell us about the $12 delivery fee when we ordered. We would have ordered at another place and we'd still be take-out customers. ORIGINAL POST: We wanted to try a new pizza place and Fatman's is now our new favorite. We ordered a hand tossed crust and it was delicious - thinner than I expected, but nice and chewy. When I first opened the box, I thought there was too much cheese. But nope. It was the perfect amount. The sausage was really delicious and I liked the spices they used. This place is about 11 minutes away but I'd go again. I was quoted 25-30 minutes and it was ready to go when I arrived, earlier than expected.

A great spot to pick up a Chicago style slice of pizza. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The cheese is great. The veggies are cooked well and abundant on the pie. The sausage was my favorite meat. The crust is not overwhelming and full of dough. The prices are fair for what you get, but do be prepared to wait about 30 minutes to an hour for your pizza pie to cook. They also do open mic nights and it appears bands play there too. If there's one thing I would say as an opportunity to stand out is have a better dining atmosphere. It's a great little spot for pizza and I recommend it highly.

Been by here 500 times at least. Lots of folks said it was good, so I tried it out. Chicago style pizza and other foods. I had an Italian beef with cheese and giardinera. Pretty tasty. Crinkle cut fries, done excellently. Small salad is huge. Probably a couple meals worth. Bathroom is clean, tables clean, looks like Fri and Saturday night live music. Some games and such so I am thinking kid friendly. Overall, I'd recommend. On a side note, their big deep dish takes a while to cook, allow some time on the pizza's.
