This is a great place to go if you want to get groped by the managers friend then thrown out for denying him.

It's okay for a college bar. Sticky floor was kind of off putting.

Definitely unique atmosphere: feels just like tailgating but in a closed-in place with a bar attached. It's a bit cramped and the music is so loud you can't hear anything, but you probably want that if you're social. This is a great place for a party or a tailgate atmosphere, but just that.

Best game day bar in town! Fast bartenders, DJ Danny is awesome, they even have a patio bar! Oh also free popcorn and hotdogs. If you're in Ames you need to be at Cy's Roost!

The outside deck is really nice and they have good drink deals but if you get there too late, there will probably be a $5 cover. 21 mugs is the only nice thing about the place

I've always had a good experience here. The back patio is a definite plus! Bartenders are quick and know their stuff; ask them for their favorite shot to make and you won't be disappointed.

This is not a bar I would recommend. I would recommend every bar in Ames, but this bar. The employees treated me like trash. The bartender smiled at me as he poured no liquor in my jack and coke. The bartender proceeded to pour me another drink as he realized he was in the wrong. The drink was still subpar. Go anywhere else.

It pains me to add even a star to this wretched bar. They change and take away their only worthwhile special (21Mugs) without any rhyme or reason, removing any reason for actually stepping in the door. They usually charge a cover and the atmosphere is awful, no good space to be with the people you came in with or to meet anyone else. Pool is even horrible here, I can't get drunk enough to ignore the poor quality here. The deck is the third best in Ames, but there are only three. Find somewhere else to go. I have yet to have anything resembling a good experience here at Cy's and I think it'll stay that way as I promised myself I would never go back. I hope for your sake you do the same.
