Good comfort food at a good price. Mocha coffee and cinnamon rolls are a must.

This place is such a trip! We enjoyed the burritos and breakfast plates. Warm and cold salsas and self-serve coffee make the dining fun and the decor is mind-blowing

Great experience overall at an iconic Albuquerque, New Mexico restaurant.
Service is quick and excellent with a steady line of people flowing through at busy times.

Edit
So I've come here maybe once a week for half a year. It's breakfast is fine. I like the huevos rancheros with chopped chille. The people in and out side are a colorful bunch. Lol. But I guess there isn't much you can do about that.
Here's where I think you find a lot of value. The people waking around maintaining the cleanliness are super nice. The people at the counter can be in a rush but they're not mean or jerks. They're just anxious to get the line down.
The green chille stew is inexpensive and a half gallon fed 3 hungry people at my house.
Gets the biggest part of this Edit. I ordered a burger that was one of the best I've ever had. The meal was 17 bucks but boy was that burger out of this world. It's not on the menu, it was recommended in a NM foodie group. It's cakes the Duke city and I added the picture. The man who made it (Jorge) was so kind and amazing. This made me change this review in so many ways.
Yes you should come. Just know some things are worth the hype.

It was packed at 11am when we came for breakfast rush and the line was 20+ min long. Absolutely worth it. Great food made fast and cozy hometown ambiance. Really liked the eclectic decor and artwork that helps give Frontier an iconic and unique local character. The restaurant was much larger than I expected, felt like they just kept expanding into the buildings next door. So many spaces for seating that were full of people. Buttery cinnamon rolls were to die for. If I was a local I could see myself coming here all the time.

Literally flew back from PA just to have a Frontier Burrito! I got it to go because I knew I wouldn't finish it right away haha
I lived in Abq my whole life and recently moved away, the food just doesn't compare anywhere else. If you're looking for comfort food this is your spot. Don't forget to grab a Frontier roll for the road!

We were told that The Frontier Restaurant is a must-see if we were in Albuquerque, so we had to stop. Walking in feels nostalgic with the diner tables and layout. The walls are filled with hints of the past. The food was prepared as if grandma just cooked you a meal that warms you inside and out. This restaurant is a staple in this area, and you know it by the continuous stream of customers that flow through the doors. I agree that this is a must visit if in the area.

This is a causal spot if you're looking for a quick meal and to try New Mexico food like us. We thought the food was tasty, but it was our first time having New Mexico food so we had nothing to compare it to. The atmosphere was fun with great artwork/photos all over. If you are looking for something more high end this is not your spot!

Grateful for this late night place in ABQ. My husband and I had green chile burgers and a Mexican combo. Also had a frontier roll for dessert. Loved most everything, the beans a little on the dry side for my taste.

I love this place. I haven't been in 12 years and coming back to Albuquerque it felt like home stepping in here again. I had a long drive ahead so I didn't want to overstuff myself so I got a half order of chicken enchiladas with red sauce. It came with rice and a fresh tortilla. What can I say the fresh tortillas are my favorite, and the red chile is very flavorful. The only downside of this place is the parking. If you park on the side or front you have to pay for a meter and it's usually hard to get a spot. If you go down the alley, for about the next 5 or 6 buildings on both sides of the alley there are 45 minutes free parking spots or $5 for every extra hour. I got lucky to eventually find a spot but nearly gave up. Glad I didn't give up though cause this place is so darn good. And for my enchilada and drink spent only a little over $9 which is not bad.
