The Canford

First time visiting yesterday for Sunday lunch and we were very impressed with the food and atmosphere. Three of our party had the Sunday roast and it was top notch and two of us had the fish which was perfectly done. Desserts all delicious too. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating and after we finished our meal they even found us a table to watch the World cup rugby match. We will definitely be back again soon. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Fantastic boutique hotel with lovely restaurant. The rooms here are amazing! This is definitely more than a 3 star in terms of quality and size of the bedrooms. There are several areas to eat. The bar is lovely and cosy and welcomes dogs. We ate in the conservatory part (dinner and breakfast) which is really nice and then there is a fab garden area to the back. Definitely recommend staying or eating here - superb!

Great welcome at the bar when we arrived and a couple of Boon Doggle Ales were ordered. (Could have more ales and draft beer generally though as not much choice) A lovely garden to enjoy the summer evening. Seated inside the conservatory Wilf brought us menus and we chose 2 Canford Burgers, 1 Fish and Chips and 1 Pie. Hubby scored his burger a 7 I scored my fish an 8 the chips were a 9. Wilf was attentive and offered his advice. I liked him, a lovely lad with a smile! I had a chocolate brownie which was really good but wish there had been 2 scoops of ice-cream for the size of brownie. My friends Eton Mess tasted beautiful but definitely needed more chunks of meringue. The pub inside is decorated really well, toilets are clean and good. Overall a very good first time visit. I’m sure we will come again. Thank you.
