Not a coffee shop in the proper sense.
Coffee product could be better.
Carrot cake was good, scone is the common prebake kind you find at cheap shops.
Nice little tea selection. Cozy location.
Not pretentious. Very cheap prices!

I don't like to diss small local spots, but have to say I was disappointed with today's special, Bacon-Artichoke Quesadilla. For about $5.25 got half of a tortilla folded over a tiny amount of artichoke-spinach spread and 2 slices of bacon. The folded up half tortilla totally overwhelmed the bacon/spread. It was the smallest and driest quesadilla I've ever had. Makes me a little leery to try anything else on the menu.

I like the fidgets at every table. It helps my kids sit through the fairly minimal wait for food/drink. It's a little pricey, but there's pretty decent variety on the menu. Most of my experiences the food has been good, there was 1 time i had a really dried out rice krispy treat, but since it was so unusual to have that experience i didnt bother saying anything. I will day that my kids love the library so much that they like to stay for hours on end, and having this cafe available makes it easier to spend the day because I can refuel them as we go! 😁

Food and coffee was great! Though I will say, my experience at Java Lab was less than ideal. 1.) One of the workers corrected me when I ordered. I said, "Can I...." instead of "May I..." Thank you for the correction, but I thought it was a bit rude for this to be done. MANY library patrons will be coming to grab coffee/food, and MANY will not know correct grammar. I'm sure patrons will like to eat here without feeling like an idiot in strict grammar land. 2.) I respect that no outside drinks or food is allowed. But, I was told (as though I am a child) to not drink my half-filled bottle of water inside the cafe. I found it extremely odd that you restrict your clientele from drinking water, while many other establishments do not bat an eye to it. Perhaps this particular employee thought I was in high school, and that I wouldn't find her actions rude. But, I am 25 and thought her actions need to be commented on.
I will eat here again, but I will try to stay away if a particular employee is working.

Enjoyed a late lunch with my daughter and cousin at the Java
Cafe today! Great sandwich, great soup and great place to relax and enjoy a bite to eat! Stop in and say hi to the new owners Ann and Tom Waggoner. We will be stopping in again real soon!
