Under The Umbrella Cafe And Bakery

UTU is on my way to work, I love grabbing a coffee and one of their awesome breakfast burritos (protip: always say yes to the salsa) once or twice a week. I usually can't finish the whole burrito in the morning and it MAKES MY DAY when I get hungry around lunchtime and remember I have half a burrito in the fridge. Good coffee good food and an excellent staff, I'm a big fan.

I don't give many reviews, but this is legitimately one of my most favorite coffee shops. I get a coffee every day & do my best to support small businesses. I like UTU because: 1)they use Pablos Coffee (another one of my favorites) 2)they have 2 of my favorite syrups that most shops don't 3)they have some of the yummiest homemade foods/goods. *Best lemon bars I've ever had!!! (Not too sweet or bitter. Not a typical lemon bar & twice the size of most). I wish there was more outdoor seating (outdoor only establishment, but there is 1 bench at least while you wait) & a trash can closer by, but these things don't take away from the service or experience. The staff & other customers are always friendly too. Hopefully they'll have punch cards or something soon because I've been coming every day lately. Lol. I also wish they offered an even bigger size for iced drinks because I find myself drinking my Americano much faster than I usually do. Ha. Thank you UTU!!! 🙏💗🤤💖😇💝😎❣💎🌹

I live about 15 min walking distance from this cafe, so I decided to go for a stroll, grab lunch there, and maybe answer a few emails on my laptop. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn’t say anywhere on their website that they’re takeout only. Google also still reflects that you can “dine in” here. So, I was a bit didappointed to find that I’d walked 15 minutes in the heat with my laptop only to grab my food and come back home. Had I known, I would have just jumped on a scooter, picked up food, and gone home without bringing my backpack. In any case, not a deal breaker–but perhaps that’s something small that could be improved on the website. As far as the food and drink: I got the chicken salad croissant and an iced chai–and both we’re wonderful! The chicken salad was some of the best I’ve had, and the croissant was the perfect texture and flavor. It was also a pretty big sandwich so I had no complaint about the price point. I’ll definitely stop back by to try their breakfast sandwiches and to get another iced chai!

Fantastic little hole in the wall that makes the neighborhood feel homey. Cherry and cream cheese croissants are fantastic, cinnamon rolls are fantastic, lemon bars are just sweet enough but not overly sweet. The lunch options are pretty good, and seem to slightly rotate for variety. The staff is very nice. They carry a great selection of Pablo's coffee.
