Sakura is probably one of the better sushi trains we've been to. The sushi is so yum and fresh. Missed the five star mark because the service felt super rushed. We didn't get a chance to interact with staffs or ask any questions. Unlike other sushi places, there was no ginger to take. We had to ask the staffs and they returned with two packages. We ate about $100+ worth of sushi, so it did feel a bit stingy of them to only give us two. The experience would've definitely been better with friendlier service. I recommend this place for great food though.

The variety in offerings makes Sakura an excellent choice for those looking to try many types of sushi. Prices are reasonable and the quality is solid, though perhaps not jaw dropping. The conveyor belt setup is charming and efficient, making for an authentic but approachable Japanese sushi experience.

Now my favourite sushi train in Melbourne. Everything is delicious, fast and reasonably priced for the quality. Definitely recommend.

Cheap sushi train but you definitely sacrifice a bit of the quality. Better value for money from Tokui Sushi a few metres down the road. However for the sushi train experience, it’s an easy recommendation. Nothing truly stand out though.

It was known as cheap sushi place so I was surprised that most of nigiri we had were $5.8 . Expensive! And that's not even counting the 10% surcharge for weekend, which we're not informed on the door. sashimi was fresh but so small portion which is fair for price of $7.6.. their sakura salmon roe not so good. Unagi cream cheese roll ($6.8) was good. the unique thing bout this place is they do unique fashion of sushi with Mexican style which I didn't try. And did I mention how small the sushi portion is? After a long queue for the place, not worth it.. we ended up with $45 per person without any drink and not even full, just shocked

I'm really torn about this place. On the one hand it has a good atmosphere and really good sushi but on the other hand the plate prices were not clearly displayed which led to me being a bit horrified at my bill. I went here as a treat to myself after completing a 48hr fast as sushi is a healthy light food. I had searched online for the best sushi train joints in Melbourne and this place was mentioned consistently. I was pleased with what I saw when I walked in. It had a warm, clean Japanese vibe to it. The staff all also spoke to each other in Japanese which I think is a good sign. Whilst it is a sushi train restaurant there is also an extensive menu available through QR code ordering and is how I ordered a beer. I then hoed into the sushi which was all very fresh and being prepared by the sushi chef in front of diners. There was a really good selection and it was difficult to fault. I reckon I had about 15 plates or so. After 48 hours of not eating I pretty much inhaled the first few! When it came time to pay, the bill amounted to over $100 which as I said horrified me a bit, although decent sushi train is never cheap. Each to his own of course but to my mind, for that sort of money i would have preferred to eat somewhere a little less casual. If you don't mind casual dining for good quality sushi at fairly hefty prices then I would recommend this place.

This review is for their new location on Little Lonsdale St! Such a great location and beautiful interior, and OMG they have fresh Saba (which is so hard to come by). Love this place! And now with fresh ginger ❤️
