OUTSTANDING EVENING! Private Dining in The Habit at the South London Gallery. In January 2019 I decided to host an evening for 20 of my friends at The Habit - all I can can really start by saying is that it was perfection. The food was absolutely bang on. Everyone fed back how delicious it was, how efficient the service was and we couldn't believe just one chef cooked everything! A few of us went to the kitchen at the end of the night to say thank you to him personally for the sterling job he did (which he probably found quite amusing as we had had a few drinks by then). The setting was exactly as I had imagined and communicated to Victoria (the amazing event organiser for The Habit). The table layout and the candles and just everything was so warming and welcoming. I was beaming when I got there as it was just as I had imagined it would look and feel like. The service too was exceptional; Helena and Alex were so so welcoming when we arrived and literally nothing was too much trouble. So many smiles from all the front of house which 100% added to the whole feel of the evening. I will never forget my 26th birthday at The Habit and I'm so grateful to the team for putting on a perfect evening.

I had a private event here with 30 people, and I can't speak highly enough of them. The service was wonderful, friendly and professional – they created a lovely atmosphere. They were really accommodating and patient about all our requests and pre-orders, and very adept at handling 30 people, which is on the high end for the space. The food was great too: imaginative, well-presented and very tasty indeed. The space we hired (which was the double-height room at the back) is light and attractive, and was beautifully set out. We were able to use the garden too, which made a great location for welcome drinks. All in all, I'd recommend them wholeheartedly.

We live locally and came for a weekday evening meal and we came away thinking how lucky we were to live so close to this fabulous place. Food is excellent and a little quirky, service fab and music is amazing too! During the day food and atmosphere are great too. Worth a visit for sure, whether you live nearby or elsewhere.

I can't see why some people say the staff in unpleasant or rude. They treated me very well and were some of the nicest restaurant staff that I've had the pleasure to meet in London. Yes, some of the plates can be a little bit expensive, but I'm paying for the environment, the quality of the food and the warm welcome I've received. Try to remember some people are not easy to deal with, so they may take some responses the wrong way and not think twice before leaving a comment. Nice job The Habit! Keep up the good work!
