Caffe On Uni

It's like stepping into a small town cafe. The interior hasn't been renovated in a long time. The vinyl on the benches is falling apart and place is just generally in need of a good rub down and a paint job. The service was fine, and the food came quickly. My long black was appropriate for small town cafe quality but when you have so many amazing cafe options in the area, it's a let down. The avo on sourdough with mushrooms, poached eggs and feta was also satisfactory. It was fine but nothing remarkable. Mostly of all, I felt like it wasn't smashed avo, it was an avo spread and there certainly wasn't much of it. For another few dollars you can go around the counter to Methodist and have your socks blown off with their avo on toast. It's worth the extra money. If you want a good homemade sandwich this might be the place to go (there were a few purchased while I was there), but I won't be going back.

Wonderful café with friendly staff, and excellent service. I had a cappuccino with a ham and cheese croissant, and they were deliciously fresh! It felt like the milk, ham, and cheese just tasted better than what I'm normally used to. It was busy around lunch time, but it's to be expected on such a busy road, and with good prices!

The ladies here are nice enough to make up my lunch even though its not specifically on the menu. A chicken schnitzel on toasted turkish bread with lettuce and mayo. Ive been coming here 1 day per week for this whilst at university for the day. They also have excellent homemade sausage rolls. Very friendly staff, quick service and they have a great range of other freshly cooked items. A nice change from fast food here
