Got the pan roast lamb and it was amazing. My girlfriend got the hake and it was beautifully cooked. The house beer washed it all down well. The staff ontop of it all were really lovely, friendly and attentive.

It's been a while since I was in the southside of Glasgow. I was made to feel extremely welcome by Niven's. Nothing was too much. A great selection of alcohol free drinks. Was a delight that I could sit outside too. Thanks you Niven's.

Great lunch, shared the cauliflower dish and the falafel flatbread. Both were delicious.

Great food in a nice venue. Not the biggest place so recommend booking. Great flavours and menu is varied. From starters to desserts, everything was full of flavour and interesting ingredients. Highly recommended if you are anywhere near the area.

A relatively new start-up by the people behind Cafe Source. Nice place for an early evening drink and dinner, this time on a (rare) sun-drenched evening in July. A cool, uncluttered space with an entrance at either end, lots of glass and some outside seating. A swift welcome and attentive service throughout. Interesting selection of draught bears including a peach weissebier and a really sour berry and hibiscus concotion in pale pink. Lip-puckering in a good way. You can have a sample to try before you buy. Interesting menu with vegetarian options. The smoked salmon with beetroot granita was pretty. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked and came with the star of the dish, a great fat polenta chip. I'd ordered some fries on the side but they were unnecessary. Overall a nice place to spend an evening with friends.

My go-to bistro/bar. Nice selection of beers and gins. The quality of the food is way beyond what you would expect from a small bistro, it's interesting and varied and without exception cooked to perfection. I have had breakfast here, lunch and dinner and not once have I ever been less than delighted with the food and service. There's a good mix of customers, young and old, singles, couples and families, dog friendly too. The staff go the extra mile to offer friendly advice on the food and drinks. In a nutshell, the best wee bistro/bar in Glasgow.

Fantastic bistro style food in a relaxed atmosphere. They have opened the area up a bit from its previous incarnations and it felt open and friendly. The menu is quite short which I liked but I hope they change it fairly regularly if I go to eat there more regularly.

I previously gave this place a ** review. The GM responded - that's a plus. My review was unfair. I think it's expensive for what's on offer. The menu of limited appeal(for me). Bit niche or something. A lunch menu please. Are you a café or a restaurant? Importantly, staff are great. They all had a lovely manner and, I could tell, friendly and keen. Genuine blokes and doing their job and more. ****. Professional. I wish them well.

Great new addition to the area. Offers outstanding brunch, homebaking and amazing home baked bread. Evening menu is small plates and showcasing some excellent cooking skills. Always a great selection of craft beers and gin. A must try!

Popped in today with my brother for some lunch, never knew it was there as only opened recently. What a great surprise. Food was amazing and selection of cakes out of this world. I will be returning at night soon to try the evening menu. I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I would highly recommend Niven's to everyone. Looking forward to returning. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

Lovely brunch on a Sunday, breakfast great, coffee great and the Apple and ginger cake was enormous. Staff kept on top of busy tables too. Keep it up.
