My husband and I just left there. We walked in on a Wednesday at EXACTLY 7:29pm. You would have thought we had walked in at 10pm. All of the chairs were on top of all the tables but three. The three available tables were dirty. There were two little boys (maybe 4 or 5 years old) wandering around twirling wash clothes and pretending to wipe tables. They must be the owner's or manager's children. When we walked in and saw that scene, I asked, "Are you open?" The waitress said, "You're good,,,pick a table". We were the only people in the restaurant and maybe 1 guy sitting at the bar. We picked a table right next to the table where one of the boys was on a chair "cleaning" the table top. He kept kicking the back of my chair and our table was sticky. (child labor ain't what it used to be) My husband asked for an ice tea. The waitress came back and told him they were "out" of ice tea. (That's code for, "We already dumped it all out to clean the ice tea container because we are trying to get out of here). We felt so uncomfortable, like were intruding on them trying to close up the place, that we told the waitress we were leaving. We went down the road to 55 South where there were plenty of people and great food and drinks. TIP: Don't come after 7:00pm or you will be annoying the staff who are trying to get out of there.

I've been into the one in Nashville several years ago and really liked it. This one was only so-so. The sliced grilled chicken was very dry but I'd like to seasoning. The jambalaya was very unfavorable and the sausage was a bit like bologna. The brisket did not have a lot of flavor and was pretty chewy. I really liked their beans and their coleslaw. The service lady was very nice and attentive.

The service was good and I was able to eat and get back to work within an hour. But I do not recommend the fries. They where soggy and burnt all at the same time. Not my favorite. Also my boyfriend got the rice as a side and it was crunchy and dry. It seems they pay all of their attention into meat and ignore the sides. We might go back because the service was good.

I really wanted to like this place but food was over-smoked and overpriced. The sides were not good. The wait staff was undertrained. The server informed us of the daily specials by saying “Uh, like it’s a patty melt, whatever that is. Like really?” She was friendly and obviously new, but very inattentive and unprofessional. As I stated above, the food was lackluster at best. Neither of us really enjoyed our lunch. It was a disappointing way to spend just under $40 for 2.

Service was good, and the pulled pork was good. Chips and salsa were warm and fresh. Cowboy beans were extremely good as well along with the fries that I had. Now for why only 3 stars, my wife had Brisket and 4 pork ribs. They were severely over cooked to the point of tasting burned. They were served wet and since they were overcooked the sauce on them was also overcooked and together that made for some of the most horrific tasting ribs and brisket either of us had ever had in our lives.

The bathroom should have been my first sign. It was filthy. I decided that can't be the foods fault so we continued on to have lunch here. To say the food was bland is an understatement. The food is awful. My teenage children are not picky eaters, but they couldn't stomach the bbq or the burrito. My in laws also aren't picky- but most of our food went untouched. The service is terrible, the silverware dirty. I will not be back- and won't be surprised if this place closes soon.
