We visited Josh Macs on a Tuesday evening at 5pm, just at opening time. We were greeted and seated to our table promptly. Service was good and with a smile. Our Drinks order was taken while we decided on our main course. The menu was quite extensive, and typical grill style. Plenty of selection from steaks, ribs, sizzle plates etc. There was also a pizza menu but we were not getting pizza on this occassion. I opted for the classic chicken stack, that is battered chicken over mash peppered sauce and tobacco onions. My mother ordered the sirloin steak with thick cut chips. The food was very tasty and the service attentive. We ordered desserts which were just OK, they felt bought in opposed to made in house. I went for the sticky toffee pudding and my mother the chocolate brownie. Every dessert option contained ice cream. The desserts were just OK and this is the only reason this is not a 5* review. The restaurant was filled nicely by time were were leaving we will be sure to be back. Thank you for a lovely meal. .

This is a great local restaurant in Carrickfergus. We were unsure where to eat while staying in the area and decided to give them a try. We liked it so much we went back the night after with family. It gave me the impression of an American Dinner style place. There was a good range of food and drinks. The starters and the mains were the highlight, but the deserts were also good. The staff were friendly and service was efficient. We would go back again if we were in the area again.

Called in for a deluxe hot chocolate. Had the same thing last year and it was just as good. Three mini flakes, a biscoff biscuit, extra marshmallows, a side of cream and a massive cup of hot chocolate. It was amazing and great value. Definitely the best one in the country. Loads of parking available and walking distance from the castle for any tourists. Thanks

We had a lovely dinner at Josh Macs recently, and couldn't fault it! The service was fantastic from Dean, who was so attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about his role. The food was delicious and the portions were more than we could manage - but we were sent home with the leftovers in a box, which was a lovely touch.

Good food, good flavors (xx spicy piri piri chicken wrap was actually spicy and the in-house made tartar were both nice surprises!), great service, all at a very reasonable cost. Main dish plus 2 sides (I got the green salad and spicy fries, husband got the peas and sweet potato fries) is under £9. Definitely recommend!
