What an amazing find, this shop and cafe, with a large car park, situated in beautiful surroundings, near to the Pranknash monastery/Abbey. Staff were so kind and accommodating! We were on retreat in the café rooms, decorated with the most beautiful paintings, the food was scrummy, they also provided gluten and dairy free cakes for myself, so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend you visit!!! Beautiful things on all sale in the café area.

Lovely little secret place. I liked the books of Table Contemplations around the tea shop. Lovely grounds. Half wild walled garden.

a truly spiritual coffee and bacon bap experience, a lovely place to go, we didn’t take the dog with us as we were not sure we could but now we know that the bit of the building you first go into has dog bowls and treats ready for you if you do bring your furry friend. Will definitely go again.

I visited here with a friend who was just passing through on a journey going South and I was looking for somewhere me and my dog could go to meet them. It was a lovely day and there were quite a few people about but despite the cafe being quite busy it was running to perfection. There wasn't a long wait and everyone looked happy to be there. There were water bowls for dogs and even a jar with dog treats in. My friend loved it and it will be my go to meet up place. Big car park, lots of seating which covers all bases. Some shade, some in the sun, some on grass. Will definitely visit again

Stumbled across this place, tired and in need of coffee after a long hike and overnight camp. What a beautiful find, lovely, welcoming atmosphere, and dogs catered for with water bowls dotted around the outside seating and doggy treats available to buy inside the cafe. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The food is nice and coffee is good. The gardens made for a really nice stroll afterwards and a great place to relax in the sun, very peaceful.

We visited as it was on route and we wanted somewhere to stop for and hour or so for a short walk and a drink. It is free to park and to enter. Much of the grounds are open to walk around as is the walled garden and the chapel - the abbey itself is private. After a very pleasant half hour wander we went into the cafe - the cakes looked very nice but we weren't hungry so just had a tea and coffee and then bought some honey (made at the abbey) and some cider (made at another abbey!) Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Clean and tidy. Great cakes. Peaceful feel. A friend and I stopped in for drinks and cake on a warm Friday afternoon. The inside felt bright and airy with plenty of well spaced seating. Outside was a limited amount of traditional tables and chairs with some pub type bench tables. There was a peaceful air of calm about the whole place, inside and out. Staff were welcoming and efficient. Our order was taken quickly and delivered to us when ready. Latte coffee was sweet and not too strong. The tea came in a two cup pot with just enough milk. The cakes are made locally and, according to a friendly chatty server there, some are made by employees. The coffee and walnut cake melted in the mouth, ditto the Victoria sponge. All very traditional fare and indeed the clientele were towards the “more mature” end of the age range. We arrived at about 2.45 and the place filled up quickly soon after. Prices weren’t too bad given the quality: £15 for two hot drinks, two cake portions and a couple of unusual soft drinks from an almost local company (Bristol). There’s ample free parking a short walk from the café. The location means that the ground slopes a lot. There are ramps, some with handrails, down to the café but care is still needed especially in wet or icy weather. The turning into the site is on a twisting A road. Easy for locals but visitors from farther afield might want to plan ahead and check the route on a map, preferably using Streetview.

After a 2 mile walk it was lovely to sit outside here and enjoy the quiet. Our tea and cheese scones were nicely presented - with a proper teapot and cups+saucers. Cheese scone was slightly warm, so the butter melted into it..... What's not to like? 10/10 for COVID-safe. And then it was a 2 mile walk back home.... We'll be back! Update 3Sep21: We keep going back and enjoying the wonderful cakes they keep putting in front of us. It's becoming a bit of a habit... But the coffee and walnut cake was absolutely delicious.
