Rusty Taco

I've been to R Tacos so many times but today was by far the best experience I've ever had here. Mitchell was at the register and he was friendly, patient and incredibly helpful. Sole made our tacos extra delicious. The food was excellent but the service was even better. Our experience would have been completely different if it weren't for the team working today. So glad we went here for lunch!

Really don’t like leaving bad reviews but first impression this place is highly unorganized. From the cook not knowing how to make a taco on their menu. Too waiting for for 30 minutes just to have some of my order waiting on their prep station table since the minute I walked in. They forgot two tacos completely. They couldn’t cancel my online order and I got stuck paying for a 45 dollar disaster of a meal that I tried to give a chance. Just for everything to look completely Rusty. The name of this establishment truly speaks for itself. The whole process is rusty and need to be refined. Will not be coming back no time soon. If ever again. (Update they won’t reply)

Inconsistent at the location near me. The food is great when it is good. Also, like other reviewers mention, the wait is long. I know it usually takes 20 minutes at Arvada. I also have had them tell me they were closed before closing time. The location in Westminster made it right, but the location in Arvada gave me what looked like pure fat and liquid cheese as a replacement to my order that had bbq sauce when the receipt we got even showed no bbq sauce. I understood that their receipt was different due to the online order and special request, but the cashier challenged my wife as to us having requested it. Worse yet Reggie (the manager) was rude, got in my face, implied we were trying to get free food, then hung up on me when I called regarding the replacement. He also personally made the replacement (2nd image). Been going since I moved here two years ago but don’t think I’ll be back since I was to receive a call from the distract manager and never did. 1st image was the incorrect first order. 2nd image is the replacement. 3rd image is the one from the Westminster location.

I have gone to R taco many times. The old location in Arvada off of Ward Road always delivered great meals and the other location over here off of 80th continues to disappoint me every time I go. I like going because I enjoy the Baja shrimp taco. But wait time and service have always been an issue for me. I decided to give it another go today and ordered online so I wouldn’t be frustrated by the wait time at the restaurant. When I got my meal home the queso that is given to me is disgusting. It is grainy and chunky like it’s been sitting there for days and hasn’t been stirred. After this experience, I unfortunately will not be giving this establishment any more of my money.

I guess my previous review was lost so I’ll begin again. Yesterday I visited r taco on Wadsworth for the first time and had a lovely fried fish taco and rusty pork taco with roasted pineapple. Today I came back to sample the grilled shrimp taco and roasted garlic pork taco all on corn tortillas, although flour is available upon request. Each taco is done street style with fresh lime wedge and is very portable and beautifully made. Staff is super nice and smiley! Be patient - the food is worth the few extra minutes it may take you. They have ample outdoor dining, a big dining room and great fresh salsa upon request, although their food is well seasoned and doesn’t need it, per se. They forewarn you that they are not the speediest place, and that each order is made as it is ordered. No complaints here and food that’s slow is typically better and more thoughtfully prepared anyway. Worth the wait. So far I’ve tried the rusty, the #2 roast pork, the fish taco, and the grilled shrimp which is my favorite. They have kids dishes, sopapillas, chips and salsa, traditional sides like black beans and a fair selection for vegetarians’ choices. Delicious. So impressed and so thrilled for a calorie conscious, authentic street taco option with out breaking the bank. Dinner for me is less than five or six bucks and I’m totally thrilled not to be doing dishes. Go give it a try!! Most tacos are a couple bucks a piece for a quality taco and it’s fresh fare! They serve breakfast burritos all day long, have Mexican soda, jarritos, churros and probably a few things I haven’t noticed yet. This is day two in my taco “investigation” and it’s been too good and too delightful an experience to stop this dinnertime streak. Tomorrow I think I’ll go with vegetarian choices and update my review. For those of you complaining about the price - THIS IS NOT CHEAP TACO BELL - which btw - is of horrible quality. It’s completely quality food, not garbage fast food.
