Opa's Gyros 2 Go!

Fabulous welcome by Natalie. I just wanted a quick meal for one being here on business and not fancying the hotel food !!! I had lamb souvlaki… absolutely delicious… perfectly cooked pink the way I like juicy lamb. No fatty sinew. So lean , served with salad, pitta and tzatziki with home made fries. What’s not to love ❤️ xx

On a brief visit to Exeter and needed a bite to eat. After a quick look around Opa Taverna was selected. It did not disappoint. A selection of starters and a Greek salad provided a very tasty meal that more than satisfied. Brilliant Greek food with a twist and the staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.

On an overnight stay in Exeter, we came to Opa for dinner. It has a real taverna feel. We opted for a selection of starters which left us completely satisfied. Everything was done to perfection and some of the traditional starters had interesting little twists which just added to the deliciousness. Greek classics with a difference, all served by a knowledgeable and very helpful waitress called Natalie. She took great care with my allergies without making me feel like 'a problem', which is what a lot of restaurants do. She even educated me about the prevalence of sumac allergy which I wasn't aware of! 10/10 all round and wish we could come back sometime. Thank you!

Ate here this evening. Had the dolmades (delicious), Greek salad (pretty good but more leafy bits would have been nice; also it was probably a serving size intended for two people but I enjoyed it all) and vege moussaka (also pretty good). Overall very happy with the food but this place has really terrible acoustics — hard walls/floor and no treatment installed at all — and it only took ONE noisy table for the whole place to be overwhelmingly loud and harsh. I left immediately after finishing my moussaka as it was just too much. Some absorbent acoustic panels on the walls would really help make this place be less harsh and more comfortable to dine in.
