As I’ve already said in previous reviews of other branches, this is one of the best sushi places I’ve ever tasted! It is rich in flavor, with a variety of non traditional options to choose from, all of which are weird, yet absolutely delicious. The staff is also very friendly and the place is very tidy and neat. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner at adequate prices!

My friend and I visited the restaurant for the first time, and we ordered Veggie Tempura Roll - Neptune Sushi Roll - Pomegranate Lemonade - Iced Tea Passion Fruit. <br/><br/>Regarding the food, EVERYTHING was amazingly delicious, good portions, and good prices. Dont forget to ask for their spicy mayo!<br/><br/>Will definitely be coming back to try different dishes.

This place is amazing! The best thing is that if you have a gluten allergy you can tell the waiter/waitress to tell the chef not to put soy beans or sauce or wheat/flour in your dish, if you don’t like spicy food then I would highly suggest you go for the potato crunch sushi.

Love this place for a quick bite of sushi. Tried one of the new chikara bowls, salmon, shrimp and quinoa. A good option for a light dinner or healthy meal after the gym. <br/><br/>If you’re really hungry, the portion is a bit small.

Simply enjoyed the dine in experience at sumo downtown. Service was great and the food even better!! Portions are big which was a delightful surprise and even the kid’s meal was creative and fun not to mention great value. Definitely would visit again... just wish they did delivery to my area it soooo close 😔

The BBQ beef is one of my favourite, super tasty and excellent portion. Just two little things : go easy on the sauces (teriyaki and garlic mayo) on the rolls and please don’t put too much sesame on your California, just a sprinkle is more than enough ! I often received them literally coated in sesame... <br/><br/>Apart from that delivery is on time, the few outlet I visited so far offered professional service... I wish the Zomato menu offered more “regular maki” (salmon maki, tuna, omelet etc...) <br/><br/>Keep up the good job

That's why we always live to dine at Sumo. We know what to expect and we always choose our favourites... This was our first time at the Downtown brand. It used to be our favorite place for the past 1,5 years. Staff is friendly but the Manager/supervisor is rude, arrogant and disrespectful. Even his own staff complained about him.Will never go again there until he is changed. We have witnessed his impolite behavior in many visits with other customers and some friends referral. Samurai Poke is one of my favorites, usually i can eat only half as it is so fulfilling<br/>This time i asked not to add Spicy mayo and cream cheese and tempura flakes but instead to use Nori Cuts. Menu contains a wide variety of dishes that can appeal to all sorts of dietary preferences, from hot appetizers such as spring rolls to Japanese dishes like Katsu Curry. However, the main appeal of the menu is the sushi selection, and honestly, one of the best vegetarian sushi selections in Dubai. The dragon roll and sushi sandwich were some of the most uniquely enticing experiences. Haven’t had a chance to try a lot of non-sushi dishes yet. <br/><br/>Also reasonably priced and not a huge burn on the wallet like most sushi places in Dubai.

We visited again after ages and seems that either our taste buds have evolved or it’s simply no longer as good!! What’s with the sweet chilli sauce under all the sushi!? Surely that’s not real Japanese, right! <br/>The wasabi prawns had corn in them - go figure. <br/>Saving grace was the chicken gyoza - pretty decent. <br/><br/>Don’t think we’d be going back in a rush though!

By far my favorite Sushi restaurant in Dubai.<br/>Service is totally amazing and the waiters are very friendly. The sushi rolls were excellent and one of the best I had in Dubai.<br/>The only reason I didn’t give a 5* rating is that we came back home smelling totally like seafood 😁, probably because we sat very close to the kitchen.<br/>Overall, I highly recommend this place for Sushi. Will definitely visit again.

Sorry sumo but just ordered from you and it was appalling. The Katsu chicken was dry and the breading was falling off. The sushi did not look fresh. Looked like everything was made two days before. Ended up throwing it in the bin!

Beautiful takeaway, huge portions, delivered warm! Fresh, great ingredients, teriyaki salmon was crispy and well cooked. The sushi rolls (samurai) were the best part, and huge! I will definitely order from here again, and try some of the other sushi rolls.

We had training at the office and lunch was provided for and as an added bonus, it was Japanese food. I've been to a few Sumo Sushi outlets before and been a couple of times in this particular branch and in all cases, I left a satisfied customer.<br/><br/>The office ordered salad and a selection of abundant platters. There were vegetarians in the group so the choices had to be balanced to cater to everyone. It was good that Sumo Sushi has a good number of vegetarian items on the menu, something I never noticed until this time.<br/><br/>I was thrilled by the options in front of me - from appetiser to sashimi to nigiri to roll and more. I initially gravitated towards my favourites such as salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, fried gyoza, unagi roll and shrimp nigiri but then decided to try items I haven't tasted before for my second plate. I tried ebi fry, harumaki and various rolls including the veggie options. My favourites continued to be the winners as expected. Those were delicious. I wasn't as pleased with the vegetarian rolls. I don't like eating vegetables in general so this does not mean those items were bad. The ebi fry was a little disappointing because of too much breading. It was still tasty but I would want more of the shrimp than the coating. The harumaki was a surprise. It was a treat for the palate. <br/><br/>Sumo Sushi continued to impress. I hope all future trainings at the office will be like this.

For starters we tried the rock n roll shrimp( honestly this was alright, but nothing compared to dynamite shrimp)<br/>Chicken gyoza- delicious,crispy crust grilled dumplings with a delicious dipping sauce.<br/>Harumaki- basically these are like spring rolls with a much crispier,tempura like batter. <br/>Vietnamese rolls- delicious, healthy and light. Spring rolls from paper thin rice paper. Served with a sweet chilly sauce. It was quite delicious.<br/>Yaki soba was below average.<br/>We ordered samurai,Bangkok and crunchy crazy for rolls. It was served on a beautiful sushi boat, and looked wonderful. Except the fact that it had too much unnecessary extra sauces, these were quite enjoyable.<br/><br/>I didn't like the chocolate bomb that much- it looked better than it tasted. The best sushi rolls in town! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Whether I am here for a dinner, business lunch or simply a cup of coffee I always enjoy 100%. Well-priced menu in combination with a fair loyalty program will take good care of your wallet. You are a vegetarian or a meat-lover, be sure that Sumo has what to offer. A healthy kids menu is another big advantage, that you certainly gonna consider if you wish to eat out with your little ones. My new found love for Japanese cuisine took me here one night for dinner. This place is at the Murooj complex in downtown tucked into a little corner but when you enter the place it is decently sized. Done up with minimal stuff, nothing fancy but the serve and food is good.<br/><br/>To drink we called for a fresh watermelon juice and a Rock n Roll Shrimps from the starters. The watermelon juice was refreshing and the quantity was decent sized. The shrimps were tangy and tasted great, a lot like the dynamite shrimps. <br/><br/>For the mains we called for one Emperor's new roll and a Japanese Curry Katsu. I totally loved the Emperor's new roll, it had prawn tempura with avocado, cucumber and crab-stick frizzled with sweet and chilli sauce, this was my personal favourite for sure. The chicken katsu was very average, the curry wasn't thick like it is supposed to be and the chicken didn't taste great either. <br/><br/>We couldn't call for desserts as they only have ice creams and we were in no mood for ice creams. As a group of 5, we came to this restaurant with the intention of having lunch. We frequent the place and know what to expect. We ordered the samurai sushi, bbq bento box, the chili prawn bento box, the tuna lovers' bento box, and the salmon bento box. The sushi, and the bbq, the prawn and the salmon bento boxes were good, but the tuna was stale and not fresh. However, when they brought the chopsticks on napkins, there was an ant walking on one of the napkins. We called the manager, but he just gave excuses and did not even apologise, instead suggesting that the ant had 'flown in'. The remaining staff were respectful and pleasant to deal with, but the manager was indifferent and not friendly at all. This incident overshadowed our visit and did not allow us to enjoy the food, leaving us constantly searching for more ants in the food.

Japanese cuisine has many scrumptious and delectable flavors. It has mix of rice, noodle, tempura, sashimi, tofu and many more to tingle your taste buds. I was overwhelmed in my recent visit to Sumo Bento and Sushi. In Dubai they have almost seven outlets where you can enjoy and try authentic Japanese flavors.

22nd July was my little nephew's first birthday. We had a cake smash photoshoot for him, it was fun. So we headed to Downtown area to eat Sushi. This place is really famous and has won many awards for having the best Sushi in town. Sumo Sushi and Bento-- They have around 12 something branches all over UAE.<br/>Where do i begin... I always had this notion.. not self thought but heard here and there that Sushi is raw fish; but after eating one peice i was amazed by the taste. Repeatedly we called the manager to ask for the ingredients. So humble of them to be so attentive to us. <br/>This is what we ordered:<br/>*Rock and Roll Shrimps*<br/>These are the giant shrimps deep fried in tempura and served with delicious mayo sauce.<br/>It was reallly really crunchy. <br/>*Gyoza *<br/>These are Chicken Dumplings or Momos I'd say served with special not so spicy sauce.. Not bad i'd say.<br/>*Emperor's New roll*<br/>Prawns tempura with avocado, cucumber and crabstick drizzled with sweet chilly sauce. There was a cracker like tingle when i chewed. i was surpised everytime i ate one it was interesting to eat..<br/>Aah they also serve steamed Ginger with Wasabi(Horse Radish) looks like peda(indian sweet) but you're supposed to take small portion for the spice coz trust me it was fire in my mouth when i took large portion accidentally. :O LOL <br/>*Sweet potato crunch*<br/>A not so spicy sushi which is made of Prawns, crabstick, and avocado with a mix of mayo , teriyaki and sweet chilli sauce topped with crispy sweet potatoes. which i would rather call aloo sev :P haha i ate this with the wasabi and pink ginger julienned.<br/>*Dragon Roll*<br/>This was suggested by the manager telling us about the Unagi ingredient in the sushi .<br/>Unagi is the Japanese word for freshwater eel, especially the Japanese eel, Anguilla japonica. The rest of the ingredients were same as sweet potato crunch.. I liked it.<br/>Well.. i would say i had quite an experience for the first time having sushi. Have come here on multiple occasions and the sushi is always delicious. The ingredients always taste very fresh and the different sushi pieces are all excellent. I must also include that the poke bowls are a definite must try as they are excellent as well!

Yum yum yum! They have a large menu but the staff were more than ready to help us choose. Some of the speciality items that I really enjoyed were the Bangkok roll (on the spicy side but it really awakens your taste buds), I also had the Yogan roll (my favorite on the menu). We also started with the appetizer Rocky Mountain, it had delicious red crisps 😍😍. We also had the poke bowl mix of tuna and salmon (recommended in brown rice) very tasty. The atmosphere is nice, overall it was a very pleasant and delicious experience.

I can't have enough of this place! Super chilled ambiance. Mouthwatering sushi selection! Staff are quite friendly and the manager doesn't stop making us laugh everytime we dine in. I highly recommend trying it. Once you do, you'll become a regular there.

My partner and I went to this restaurant last Sunday and the food was AWESOME!!! We really enjoyed the great food. The staffs and the manager were very accommodating and very friendly. Even if we had to wait for almost 1hour for the iftar, it was worth the wait! Amazing experience and great food! HIghly recommended!

We are regulars at Sumo Town Centre but this was the first time at Sumo in the Murooj complex. The place has a warm and pleasant feel and the staff was v friendly. However we were very disappointed with the quality of the food, esp the Maki rolls. Big difference in quality vs what we normally have at Sumo Town centre.

Being an out and out sushi lover, I honestly had high expectations from this place. We ordered a salmon tuna tartare for starters which was unimpressive and so was the desert fried tempura ice cream. However the sushi rolls crunchy wasabi and yogan were good and value for money. Having said that I am not ready to write off this place entirely just yet.

Lebanese owned SUSHI place at AL Murooj Complex, very friendly staff and manager. We ordered Salmon Tuna Tartare to start.<br/>Very fresh salmon and tuna layered with avocado on the a bed of tomatoes and sweet potatoes. Just perfectly done.<br/>And then we ordered Crunchy Philly, Tiger, Samurai and Alaska. Good portions little rice which is great, very tasty freshly made Maki. Each one has its special flavor. Amazing place. Thank Sherleen and Edgar. Super Sushi place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

This dish is the Samurai poke and it consists of a sushi rice bed, topped with a variety of seafood proteins such as raw salmon, shredded crabs, and shrimp combined with one of the fanciest and healthiest vegetables which is avocado. All of these are topped with fish eggs or caviar and sizzled with Japanese mayo. Well, they normally sizzle on it spicy mayo, however, my personal preference is the Japanese mayo sauce.

Comment: I totally love Wandara the staff who served us. She’s so straightforward and honest. Was good experience. Came pass 7pm and it wasnt busy, Place was clean and they sanitized the tables after every guests. Anjay —i hope i got the name right, and Jenny are both friendly and Polite,,,Ramen was good! I ordered Gyoza and Bento was also delicious. Just a little comment on the Tuna Sushi: it was a bit bland. But overall was good!
