Delicious! I had the bacon/egg/chorizo breakfast taco, and the chorizo was the best I’ve ever tasted! I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu here.

This hidden little gem is a GREAT place for some real home cooked comfort foods of the memorable kind. It was like going to your favorite relative's home and asking for whatever you craved. If what you're looking for isn't on the menu or the wall, don't worry... ask for it anyway. I'm definitely looking forward to going back.

Oh my goodness y’all, so good! It is small and a little tight inside but so worth it for the food. The service is great and the people are friendly and so helpful. Make sure and look around the walls for customer created meals. I would return in a heartbeat!

Stopped by in the morning to eat with husband as we are in town for work. Love the atmosphere. I felt like I was eating at my moms house. Place is very small and parking is tricky but honestly it was worth it. I feel like you can never go wrong with Mexican food. Food tastes amazing. You can taste the homemade.

Super delicious just a really small and cramped place. I hope they get a bigger location. They deserve it off the food alone. Almost no parking area. They have a bunch of crazy tacos but plate shown is the Milky Way. Chilaquiles with barbacoa and papas con chorizo 😋

Stopped by for breakfast on a Friday morning. Even though it was a weekday, it was still crowded since there's no more than 10 tables. However, service is fast and the tables are constantly clearing out. Also, the parking is very small, so cars are double-parked on purpose. If someone leaves first, people have no problems moving their car. There are so many options as there's really no set menu. Throughout the restaurant, you'll see many different menus as it's constantly evolving from customer favorites. I did a combination of reading menus on the wall and viewing pictures online. Tried many different tacos and had to get the Puff-Chilada. All the tacos were very fresh, large and filling. I'd recommend looking at plates as they come out before ordering several tacos. Puff-Chilada lived up to the hype, especially as I was skeptical of it. One of the best parts of coming to Maria's is the service. Everyone treats you like family and it feels just like eating at home. There was only 1 waitress and she did an amazing job of juggling all the food orders, refilling drinks, cleaning tables, etc... all by herself. Restaurant is small and crowded, but that's part of the charm and the food was great.

One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! I barely even glanced at the menu - Tom (Maria's husband) just asked me what I liked and ordered me the perfect plate with everything that I wanted to try. The enchiladas and brisket were mind-blowing, and the service felt like family. Thank you for the perfect welcome to San Antonio!

Great taco spot. The staff is friendly and very helpful when you are ordering food. There are so many choices you could go for mouths and not eat the same thing. The El Hugo is a must try. Can't wait to go again.

Awesome food place. I had the sopes plate with brisket. My friend had the chicken enchiladas. Next time I will get the puffy enchiladas. I parked on Dickey St. The place is small and you can taste the home cooked goodness. This is a family run-- my fave. Don't be surprised if you see the SPURS eating here...they have received a lot of accolades from Texas Monthly etc...
