Veganaes

Generally it’s a shame that Yelp is not allowed in iceland as I usually don’t trust google or TripAdvisor reviews when it comes to food. I am surprised that iceland food ratings in general has such good ratings so we wanted to check out all the 4.5+ stars. Maybe our standards are higher as foodies who just had great food anywhere in the world especially in California. Based on the owners recommendation we ordered: Total $25 1) The burger with wasabi bun 2) Gulasch soup this place is vegan and has more of a pub vibe. Both dishes were disappointing. The burger was full of fatty spread and just not tasty and greasy. Every beyond meat or impossible burger you’d get is better. The Gulasch soup was over salted and had too much red whine as if you guys wanted to get rid of the last drop in the bottle. We left this place pretty disappointed. The food wasn’t bad or in a way that you couldn’t eat it but it wasn’t good either.

Allt á matseðlinum er vegan, þar á meðal eftirréttinn. Ég er ekki einu sinni vegan og maturinn er svo góður að ég myndi koma aftur. Come for dinner and stay for the show. There is a separate bar area from the food area that works well. Everything on the menu is vegan, including the dessert. I'm not even vegan and the food is so good I would come again. The shows range from comedians to bands to drag shows. Best to look at their website for details.

Steikasamlokan gæti verið aðeins minna djúpsteikt og mozzarella-prikin voru ekki strangar ostategundir. Mæli samt með þessum stað 👍👍👍 (Upprunalegt) Probably one of the must eat places for vegans in Reakjavik. Everything is vegan. The fish is pretty nice, the portions are biiig. The steak sandwich could be a bit less deep fried and the mozzarella sticks were not stringy cheesy. Would still recommend this place 👍👍👍

Crazy hvernig þeir geta gert Vegan matur svo ljúffengur og líður eins og "venjulegur" matur. (Upprunalegt) Vegan Pub. Love it! Good vibes. Good music. Everybody can be who he/she wants to be. Simple and delicious pub food like burgers and fish& chips. Crazy how they can make Vegan food so delicious and feel like "normal" food.

(Þýtt af Google) Fín stað í heild. Við fórum þangað tvisvar í fyrsta skipti sem ég fékk fiskinn á ís og vinir mínir, hamborgari og seitan steikurinn. Allir hlutar voru réttar stórir, fyllingir og fullnægjandi, áferðin á "fiskinum" var ekki flakandi en bragðið var gott. Nice salat með súrum gúrkum og öllum sósum og dipsum sem við fengum voru svo frábær. Næst þegar þeir fengu "fiskinn" og Seitan steikinn, fékk ég súpuna af daginum, chili stew (þetta var líka súpa dagsins í fyrsta skipti sem við vorum þar, 8 dagar áður) eins og ég elska chili og vildi eitthvað minna dónalegt - stór mistök. Það var svo ákaflega saltt að ég átti erfitt með að borða helminginn af því. Það er líklega það versti chili sem ég hef nokkurn tíma haft. Þess vegna fær það aðeins þrjár stjörnur. Vinir mínir voru allir sammála um að það væri ómögulegt að borða. Og ég tel mig ekki vandlátur og mér líkar oft við mat á salthliðinni. Þeir ættu að smakka eigin chili áður en þeir þjóna því. (Upprunalegt) Fine place overall. We went there twice, the first time I got the fish-ish dish and my friends the burger and the seitan steak. All portions were proper big, filling and satisfying, the texture of the ‘fish’ wasn’t flaky but the taste was good. Nice salad with pickles and all of the sauces and dips we got were so amazing. The next time they got the ‘fish’ and the seitan steak, I got the soup of the day, chili stew(this was also the soup of the day the first time we were there, 8 days prior) as I love chili and wanted something less junky - big mistake. It was so extremely salty I hard trouble even eating half of it. It’s probably the worst chili I’ve ever had. this is why it only gets three stars. My friends all agreed it was impossible to eat. And I don’t consider myself picky and I usually like food on the salty side. They should taste their own chili before serving it.

Friendly staff and great food! We had the fish-ish burger and the steak Burger and can honestly say they were the best faux meats we've ever had. They make all of their own proteins and I was amazed at how they make the steak seem so meaty. My omnivore husband devoured his "taste" of both and we're going back tonight for more! Totally reasonably priced for Reykjavik and the ambience is fun. Even if you're not vegan GO HERE!!

Myndi fara aftur í hvert skipti !! Frábær súpa, dýrindis ferskt salat og bragðgott aðalréttur og hliðar. (Upprunalegt) We’ve only been once so far to Iceland. Working, on tour. And this place was amazing!! Definitely a culinary highlight of the week or so we spent. Would go back every time!! Great soup, delicious fresh salad and tasty entree and sides.
