Ihop

Food was great, and our waiter was awesome, but the hostesses are rude, on their phones, no customer service. One server was in the ladies bathroom on their phone watching a show, stood up, flushed and went right back to work without washing her hands. Feel bad for the owner of this restaurant with staff like that!

Prompt service. Nice hot food served on warmed plates. Appreciated the pre-warmed coffee mugs. Server very pleasant & checked on us shortly after serving our breakfast. I gave 3 stars for atmosphere simply because there’s nothing special about it….its IHOP….but nothing bad about it either. Portion of Hash Browns is somewhat smaller than last time we were here but ample enough. Very good experience!

This IHOP seems to have undergone an upgrade. The interior is spiffier than it was a year ago, and the menu is a bit more streamlined. Got a spinach omelette with a ton of spinach, and the side dish of pancakes was very good (as always). Wife got a meat and eggs combo plate, which was also good. Service was prompt and friendly. We were there at midday on a weekday, and the crowd was overwhelmingly senior citizens. There were plenty of diners. Across the street from the Maine Mall. Adequate parking.

This updated review applies only to the Portland Maine IHOP. I was there yesterday, November 5, 2023. You could not ask for a better place to eat. I have always been happy with Portland Maine location. The food and service and wait staff have alway been great unlike Rochester NH. Was totally ignored at the Rochester NH I Hop. They couldn't even acknowledge that I or anyone else was waiting at the desk. I walked back out after waiting 10 to 15 minutes. Won't ever go back there. This isn't the first time this has happened. I have been to Portland and Biddeford Maine IHOP and immediately was greeted and put on a list if it was busy. They are so pleasant as well. Rochester New Hampshire I wonder how they stay open. It is just horrible!

The last 3 times that we have been there we have had A+ friendly waitresses. Their breakfast menu is all encompassing and if someone cannot find what they want therein, they should stay home and eat cereal or toast. Disappointed not to see my old favorite on the luncheon menu: Patty Melt. They used to have the best ones in the whole state.
