Gooey Looies

It was a trip down memory lane for me going to Gooey Looies! I remember the days my dad would take my sister and I to order hoagies before going to a Phillies game. The hoagies are still fresh and delicious, and they still pile on enough meat that you can make a second sandwich😂! It's a small shop with big sandwiches and friendly service.

I grew up in West Philly. As a young man, I would go to Louie's to get my steaks. I moved away at 18 to join the Navy. Every time I came back home to visit, I would stop at Louie's for a steak and hoagie. I just hit 30 years of Active duty military service, and to this day, I will STILL make a trip to Louie's.... now, sometimes with my kids, or a shipmate...just to get that hoagie and steak fix. If you're an outsider not from Philly, or even just someone from the city looking for a good or different sandwich spot....look no further! Louie's is that spot that makes coming home always special.

Really good cheesesteak for a great price. It was meaty, messy, filling, it took me a minute to eat… exactly what I want when eating a cheesesteak… Everybody inside was friendly. I hadn’t heard anybody mention this when asking what’s the best cheesesteak place in Philly and it might be up there but I want to try a few more places before deciding. I’ve tried other cheesesteaks and this is top 10 in Philly. Maybe even higher, I’ll put together a list.
