Id say it's a Hidden GEM. Awesome tasting donuts made fresh at a very affordable price which is hard to fine now a days. Great around bakery with so much more then just great tasting donuts.

AMAZING pastries (the sfogliatelle is to die for...). I've recently gotten a shot of espresso to go with it, which is also just as rich and flavorful.

If you're looking for the best Italian bakery in Philadelphia, look no further!
Varallo Bros has everything that you could want from an Italian bakery: cannoli, pastries, gelato, breads, cakes, cookies, and more.
They've been a part of South Philadelphia's culture since 1981 - that's 43 years, if you're counting.
So lucky to have them at my doorstep.
Give them all of your money 💯

The pastries and gelato at Varallos are absolutely delicious but what makes this place so special are the amazing people that work there.
My wife and I went in a few minutes before they closed on Wednesday night and we just had the best experience for the 5 minutes we were there.
Thank you ladies! You really elevated our experience just by being yourselves - sweet!

Stopped in while waiting for a bagel across the street and so glad I took the time to visit this bakery. Picked up a few sweet treats and man it was good.

So glad I found this gem. It is now the only place in the state I will get my biscotti and espresso. Wonderful atmosphere, great confections and an amazing staff.

I stopped here on a whim to pick up some treats for after dinner, and it did not disappoint! So many cookies and pastries to choose from! The zeppole was delicious and the banana cannoli was tasty. The amaretti and rum ball cookies are so good too! I look forward to trying their gelato and coffee at some point. Termini was always my go to place but I am happy to have found another fantastic neighborhood bakery!

Excellent pastries, cakes and espresso!
It's like walking into a pasticceria in Italy. Its family owned and operated with the old neighborhood prescence is still here.

The Italian cream cake is the best I've tasted in ages. It reminded me of my childhood birthdays (I'm 80 years old). Now that I know Varello Brothers delivers we're sure to have it regularly, even without birthdays.

Incredible bakery. Came for cannoli and saw they made espresso as well so I ordered a double. Impeccable products. There’s a line of people across the street waiting for a bagel shop to open and I want to shout at them “come over here! The water is fine and the baked goods are to die for.” Wish I had a fortune to spend here, everything looks incredible and authentically Italian. The staff are lovely and so charming as well. Not only are the baked goods incredible to take to any event or function, there is plentiful seating both inside and out. I look forward to coming back with a good book and ordering espresso and a biscotti and having a relaxing morning. This is the stuff!
