So tender and delicious! I got the brisket and pork Bao and really enjoyed them. Tasted very fresh and high quality. Compared to other Bao I've had, I found the Bao bun itself a little bland and could use some more sugar/salt though. Also for the price for 2 Bao, I'd want it to leave me a bit fuller! Overall recommend and definitely want to try the other flavours!

Pleasantly surprised! I'm not from Ottawa, and having moved I've often been disappointed with the Asian foods I've tried here, but I was walking passed Gongfu and noticed the bao people were eating...it looked so fluffy and soft! I walked in and was greeted nicely. I took a leap and didn't check google reviews first (I usually do 😅) and placed an order. I was at first a little surprised how small the box was having paid $17+ but even after a nearly 40 minute drive the bao was still super soft and fluffy and the fried chicken still crispy! I will for sure come back and try a couple other snacks! Will also definitely recommend to others, especially those visiting from out of town. Nice job Gongfu, keep it up!

I first discovered Gongfu Bao after seeing their vegan Tofu Bowl appear in the Facebook Group Ottawa Vegans and Vegetarians. At the sight of it, I was mesmerized. I was overjoyed when I discovered that they were located just minutes from my house in Centretown. The first time I went to the check them out, I was devastated as they were closed. Fortunately, I persevered and came back another day. I have now eaten at Gongfu Bao three times, and I can not get away from their tofu Bao. It is divine. On one occasion I ordered the Tofu Bao and they accidentally packed me with a dessert instead. Upon calling them, without hesitation they offered me a free Tofu Bao to make up for the one they missed and an additional Tofu Bao for my troubles. Talk about customer service. I also love how they use sustainable compostable take out packaging. My final shoutout goes to their meal share program. They feed multiple vulnerable people in the community. Everytime I call them on the phone, the person who answers is loving their life. Clearly, Gongfu Bao is a place that cares about their food, cares about their customers, cares about the community, cares about their staff and cares about the planet. Final shoutout to Stephanie, who is lovely every time I interact with them.

Gonfu Bao is a little gem of a place located on Bank Street, Ottawa. Their steamed buns (bao) are so light and fluffy it’s like biting in a cloud. Pure heaven! The fried chicken bao is definitely our favorite followed by the spiced pork one. But any of them will not disappoint. They are all very tasty and delicious. The Toban slaw is a great side that brings the perfect amount of acidity, freshness and kick to balance the meal. Gonfu Bao pride themselves in selecting local seasonal produce and offering the freshest of ingredients which is greatly appreciated. The only downside is that we usually order too much food… And they do NOT offer delivery on the Quebec side. We will forgive them and continue to pickup and enjoy their delicious food. Well done to the entire Gonfu Bao team!

LOADED bao! So much filling! I have been wanting to visit for a long time after a recommendation from a friend - I was not disappointed! We tried the fried chicken and spiced pork bao, my partner said it was the best bao he ever had. I can see why the friend chicken would be the crowd pleaser but we both preferred the pork. I want to go back to try the tofu because I think I might like that one best!

If I only had $15 to spend on food, I'd prolly pick this! Best baos in Ottawa. Had the Braised Brisket, the Spiced pork, Fried Chicken Bao, and Popcorn chicken (to die for)! All amazing and stuffed to the brim, they don't skimp

Great Bao sandwiches - apparently the fried chicken Bao are their most popular. I also had their slaw which is surprisingly spicy. Great taste, great service, sorta rickety chairs but overall a happy customer.

Hey got the iced milk tea, brisket bao and the hk French toast. Milk tea was made very authentic. Brisket bao was juicy and easy to eat. loved the taste. Hk French toast has a nice surprise to the sweet flavor. Taste was great. Service was great. I'm giving this place a 4.5 stars because for the price we would expect a bit more value and comfort of eating. total cost was $30 ( bao+milktea+toast). in terms of quality and freshness. yeah, def will come back and everyone should try this place.
