Perfect experience. Chefs are friendly, and always smiling. Reasonably priced, even feel like underpriced... They offer $100/$125/$150 omakase for 12(?)/15/18 pieces. Top fish quality. Each one also comes with several other dishes, like an appetizer, miso soup, handroll, tamago, dessert, etc.

I wish I lived in NY just so I could frequent Kura more often. My wife and I come here every time we visit NY and we are always leaving happy. We always go for the 15 piece omakasa, which seems perfect amount for us. The food is amazing but the whole experience and service makes it worth coming everytime.

The omakase experience at Kura is simply stunning. The fish is fresh, flavorful, and masterfully prepared. You can choose from 12, 16, or 18 pieces based on your budget or appetite, but keep in mind that there are a number of extra dishes (including miso soup, small starters, egg sushi, and a dessert bite) that are not included in that piece count. Given the incredible quality of the dining experience here, the prices are relatively affordable ($125 for 16 pieces, compared to $200+ for comparable places in the city). If you’re looking for truly top-quality sushi and you don’t want to pay exorbitant prices, look no further than Kura. Make sure to make a reservation in advance for the sushi bar, watching the talented sushi chefs make each piece is half of the fun!

I was transported to Ginza Tokyo through this hidden door in LES. Every piece was heaven! Best sushi (+sake pairing) in NYC hands down. I won’t eat sushi anywhere else. Kura omakase all the way!

Sushi! Not a big fan of sushi but went with the group. I tried everything and it was all OK. From previous sushi eating experience this may have been the best I had. However, If I was by myself I personally wouldn't have chosen to eat here. It was clean, well lit, and the food was served very fast. Ambience was good.

A 15-piece omakase dinner for $125. I loved some of the more unique pieces here including conch, mantis shrimp, and saltwater eel. The full meal comes with a complimentary appetizer, a hand roll, a tamago piece with the restaurant’s name printed on the top, miso soup, a small dessert (macaron), and green tea. They also give you a little surprise for your birthday or special occasion so definitely worth checking out!

Exceptional, melt in your mouth sushi. Did the full tasting menu, and aside from maybe one or two pieces which weren’t my favorite, everything was delicious and so fresh. The chefs are friendly and create beautiful courses, the staff was very attentive and overall service was fantastic. Authentic experience in an intimate setting — feels like you just walked into an actual omakase bar in Japan! Would love to dine here again and highly recommend if you are looking to celebrate a special occasion, or just want to indulge in some delicious omakase!
