Empanada Mama - Les

We came across this restaurant by accident. It was late and we were looking for a late night snack. This place is open 24 hours! We ordered a medium pitcher of margaritas, which was a great amount for 2 people to have fun! We ordered 5 empanadas. We got El jefe, jerk and cheese, Bombay, bourbon chicken, and Mac and cheese. My favorites were Bombay, bourbon chicken, and el jefe. The meat in these options was tender and delicious. If you like curry, you’ll love the Bombay! The vegetables in the bourbon chicken were such a wonderful addition. Both sauces were very good and the red was a little spicy too. The Mac and cheese was good, but too rich for me. The red sauce really cut down the richness and balanced it out, but the other options were better in my opinion. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We would absolutely come back!

This place is wonderfullllll - especially late night! ;) My partner and I landed in NY around midnight, and were able to pop in and get some delicious empanadas. A lot of flavorful options, and I'm gluten free which works perfectly with corn-based foods. Love the easy self-service kiosks where you can just order and wait for your food. Still, the workers are helpful if/when needed. There's a limited number of seats/tables, but honestly this place has a to-go vibe anyway!

This place lives up to the hype as they roll out consistency based on what I’ve seen after a couple times of going. There is a back section available for seating as well if you’re finding that the front is filled up. You want to pick up the food to go or make sure that you’re there for a quick bite. It’s a fast casual environment and gets busy as it’s one of the few spots open late at night in this area for that purpose.

So many options! Honestly, I spent a good amount of time just deciding what I wanted. I ended up ordering 3 empanadas - Jerk Chicken, Ground Corn Beef and the Bourbon Chicken. My favorites were the jerk chicken which had Swiss cheese so the flavors were really good. You got a little bit of spice and then the saltiness of the cheese. I really liked the bourbon chicken with the mushrooms as well. It was a bit oily. I think I preferred the wheat empanadas versus the corn but I’ll be back to try again.

Second time visiting because I love the variety of empanadas they have and the amazing happy hour times ! Victoria and CeeCee definitely made the vibe good while I was there ! Excellent service from these two ladies ! Drinks are gooooood and a very large size in comparison to the price! Empanadas are great !
