Havana's Pilon

We entered the place about 6:30 Friday night for some Cubans and were the only people there. Staff seemed like they were wanting to close up for the night and head out but they served us and the food was great. Not the best Cuban I have ever had but it was hot made after we ordered and the sides were fresh cooked also. Being downtown and closing at 7 I guess they are more of a lunch place. But it was a great and we will be back.

Visited on a Friday night around 6pm. Place was fairly empty and I was seated promptly. I ordered the Puerco Asado plate which comes with 2 sides. I chose Red Beans and Yuca. The side dishes tasted so-so. The Pork was absolutely delicious. The flavoring was top notch and it was cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. The pork comes with some salad with it. I also got a Passion Fruit smoothie which tasted quite good and exotic! Overall, a very positive experience and quite reasonable too at under $20 !!! Would definitely return if I am in Memphis again.

OMG, BEST LATIN FOOD IN TOWN IF YOURE NOT MEXICAN!! I love Mexican food and all types of Latin food (I’m half Puerto Rican half Dominican) but sometimes I don’t want to eat Mexican food (it’s not the way all Latinos cook) finding this Cuban restaurant in Memphis was like a touch of Orlando & New York. I ate the steak sandwich with tostones! My god, I will be going for lunch on the daily. Also had a Malta and they gave me some delicious Salsa de ajo de la casa. Place is awesome & only ONE of it’s kind in Memphis.

I don't know how I stumbled across this place but I am so glad I did. They have been here for 5 years already and I am just now finding them; better late than never, suppose. This cozy spot in the heart of downtown has stolen mine. The coladas create a perfect marriage of coffee and milk. The empanadas remind me of my visits to the panaderias in Miami. Be sure to grab a empanada de guayaba!!! You will thank me for it!!!
