Simon's Cakes is a wonderful little Cake Shop that serves traditional recipes of some classic favourites as well as a few of Simon's own recipes, the Cakes are really nice! The Coffee is brilliant, and I have to say that I love the little Sausage Rolls That Simon makes, this is a great place to grab a Coffee and a slice of Cake or to grab a Cake for a celebration, I Highly Recommend Simon's Cakes on North Rd in Ormond. 🥐🥯🍪🍩🍰🎂🧁🫖☕️

A quaint local bakery with cute pastel pink signage, Simon brings back a sense of nostalgia with his simple and unpretentious baked goods. The Carrot Cake Loaf is beautifully spiced, a tad crumbly, and frosted with a layer of sweet and tangy cream cheese frosting. It could definitely do with a bit more of that delicious frosting! No complaints whatsoever with the sausage roll. Chunky and meaty, with a flaky crust, it was an honest to goodness afternoon snack. With such delicious goodies, I’ve already put in an order to try out more of Simon's cakes.

We asked Simon to make us a very simple chocolate cake for my 2 year old daughter's birthday. It was delicious, not so sweet. It was a good size for a $40 cake. My husband and I just added a few toys to decorate it. The kids love it. :-) Update: May 12, 2018 Ordered a smaller chocolate cake ($28), asked Simon to put "Happy Mother's Day". So yummy!

I think people here are confusing good service/catering with delicious cakes. All reviews should be based on taste. Okay maybe good customer service gives you 1 extra star (or takes 1 star away for bad service) but that should be it. My experience, customer service was average. We walked in and chose a cake in the fridge. It was my mates bday and since he lives near by, I brought his kids for a walk/ chance to buy their dads cake. Cake was definitely not fresh made, at least a day old. The icing was rock hard. I mean ready made icing from Coles or woollies would have been better. Maybe the cake is better when they're fresh and yes it was during covid but there are plenty shops out there, who even during covid, provided top quality food as it were normal circumstances. An average of 4.2 was what led me to this shop and although my 1 star seem harsh, I don't think this shop should be at 4+ but low 3s. Anyone that obviously had a good experience with Simon and the team continue using their services but anyone new, I would recommend other cake shops for your special occasion.

Simon was very helpful in creating the ideal edible icing image which was quite tricky for our daughter's birthday cake. I also highly recommend his gluten free cakes, they are delicious! So glad to have found a place that has affordable cakes (including gluten free) that taste great, the friendly service is an added bonus.

On the recommendation of a friend I contacted Simon's to arrange for a birthday cake for a large gathering. I ordered a 12-inch gluten-free chocolate cake which was also lactose-free and it was delicious! I had many compliments from the attendees

Feeling peckish I called into Simons Cakes looking for something for brunch. There are cakes galore in this place you are definitely spoilt for choice. The service was really friendly and welcoming too. I ordered a plain croissant which looked amazing. The croissant was crispy on top, it was really fresh and buttery. Yummo. For some reason which I assume was intentional, the croissant wasn’t crispy on the base. This is the first time that I’ve had a croissant like that but it didn’t matter too much, it was still crispy and really tasty. I’ll be back lol.
