The Blacksmith And The Toffeemaker

The food is delicious, the staff are amazing, and the dogs are adorable!! I cannot recommend this place enough; it's an absolute travesty it's closing at the end of March :( I've tried the tofish burger, mozzarella sticks, chorizo grilled cheese, and the bread and butter pudding (my first visit was so good I went back a few days later!). Everything was incredible; all food is made fresh to order and you can really tell! Highlights are the tofish burger and mozzarella sticks (the spicy marinara is glorious) but the homemade chorizo has an amazing texture, and the bread and butter pudding was creamy and surprisingly light! You can't make a bad food choice here 😄

Love this vegan menu - the 'mozzarella' sticks were a personal highlight and my friend loved the seitan burger and fries. The chorizo and jalapeno grilled cheese sandwich was nice, but the second half felt a bit dry/became a bit of a slog. Maybe just needed a bit more sauce. Wouldn't fault anything else we had and will definitely return, if only to try the green mac and cheese which looked amazing.

Being married to a staunch vegan finding somewhere we both enjoy is rather a problem but this place is the best, the food is so damn good that I don't want to eat meat burgers and same for the mac and cheese, it may not be haute cuisine but if it tastes that good I don't really care. Staff are excellent and anywhere dogs are welcome is surely going to be great. Has become the only place we can eat and enjoy together and BTW I am one hell of a precise diner and the bar for vegan food seems appallingly low in taste and service, this place is top of our list.
