Slawgers - New American Restaurant

There were 2 of us for lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30PM. There were less than 10 tables sat (and it was seat yourself - no one out front to greet you). It took probably 5-7 minutes for someone to greet us and take our drink order. Another 5 to get them (diet cokes). Our server was super friendly, I just don't think there was enough servers/staff. We had diet cokes (and they have great ice), tried the fried pickles (really good), and I had hot dogs and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was amazing. A little too much mustard on the hot dogs for my preference - but I was actually surprised when I got 2. Should they get a huge crowd - there is plenty of space for waiting - but I don't think the current amount of staff can handle it.

All I can say is that it was okay. I’m very thankful that the appetizers were half price but the cheese sticks came cold and were served with marinara sauce that was freezing which isn’t a great combination for something that should be hot. Their fries come with a weird homemade ketchup that has a strange aftertaste (seems weird to make very basic condiments). The quesadilla options are really cool and I will say they have an expansive menu with interesting options, but overall I will not be back. (Also saw a waitress wipe her nose and mouth then put the same hand on the plate of wings she was bringing to a customer, kinda grossed me out on top of not loving the food)

Very good food. The chili is thick and meaty not spicy. The grilled cheese has a very distinct and fulfilling flavor. I got the Chick Norris which comes with one of the best marinara sauces I have ever tasted. The service is very good, it was not very busy the night I went but I would imagine that will change soon. Service was great, restaurant was clean and very friendly people.

This restaurant is a bit of a challenge. We've been here 4 times now, and the food is always AMAZING. My husband and I both have ordered something different every time we've been there and the food is always great. The service is just so terrible. The servers are always pleasant, it just has the feel of new and inexperienced servers and cooking staff. Entrees brought out, no sides (twice). Dishes brought out without all of the ingredients (macaroni without cheese). Having waited tables ourselves, we understand the learning curve, but this has been consistently every time we've been there with differentservers. There's also never been a manager or supervisor there, which makes no sense for a new restaurant. Bottom line - the food is great, but brace yourself for terrible service in order to get it.

After reading the reviews we decided we had time to kill so we would try it out. The service was actually really good. The server apologized for delays as she was helping train someone in the back but we never felt neglected. The food was very good, and the portions are so big my husband couldn't even finish his! I tried an adult milkshake... I was really surprised when she brought out a 20 oz shake! I got a whiskey watcher, a mocha flavored shake. It was phenomenal!! Definitely on our list of faves!

I have eaten at this new restaurant 5 times now. We LOVE the food. The menu has a great variety. Last night I had the Shrimp Tacos, and Oh My they were delicious! Their burger sliders are fantastic as well. I honestly think I could order just about anything on the menu here and it would taste great. The prices are also very reasonable and they give you large portions of food. Now, I do think their desserts are a bit weak, or at least for my liking, but they do offer about 40 different kinds of milk shakes if that is your thing. The knock on this place for me has been their struggles with the kitchen service time. Some of our visits we experienced excruciatingly long wait times on our food to arrive, even when the restaurant was not very crowded. Last night was different, there were several people in the restaurant but we were seated promptly, drinks brought to our table immediately, and our food came out of the kitchen in a reasonable time frame. The restaurant was nice and cool, which was great considering the heat wave we have been in. The servers have always been nice and friendly. I truly hope this restaurant makes it. Its not a large chain, has incredibly good food and is moderately priced. The location has been a death kiss for the previous 2 occupants and some negative reviews early own certainly haven't helped. I recommend at least giving this place a try. I certainly am going to go back and hope that we receive reasonable kitchen food service times again like we did last night. I know the food will be good!
