I was just in for a drink, but inadvertently stayed well past closing time. The guy behind the bar didn’t chase us out and hung around over an hour past the time until we left - great customer service

Had a late breakfast at Bar Square, Eggy bread with bacon and maple syrup. Very tasty and a good portion too. Arrived with a little side salad. Service as always was very good.

Lovely morning after the night before 🤪 spent here today. Breakfast was delicious and Bloody Mary's were bloody gorgeous. Bartender went above & beyond making these with fresh tomatoes 🍅 great service, lovely staff, definitely recommend!

The Wee Yin Breakfast was tasty.cluld have gone for a Big Yin, but even the small breakfast was more than enough. Extra star for the staff who were incredibly helpful after they had lost our order, totally wiped the bill and gave us breakfast on the house. Decor was good and food menu looked good as well.

Bar Square is always a regular stop when I'm in Glasgow. The food is great, the staff seem to be hand picked to always be lovely and accommodating, the portions are massive. Can be entered from either inside Merchant Square or from the street outside. Service is usually quick and the menu should cover most people's idea of good bar food. Definitely a strong recommendation 🙂

Great food and drinks lot of choice on the menu at good value. I love the decor and the environment is great. The disabled access fine you can go through the market or through the restaurant own front door on bell street and the disabled toilet is next to the cash register with a big saw above it. When back on the 23 Mar to have breakfast it was amazing. I highly recommend a visit.

I was in 4 bars in Merchant Square so they are all a bit blurred as to the different features and prices but I was definitely here and they were all pretty good anyway, the problem is the similarities between them, this is a fairly standard bar, easy on the eye a thoroughly modern bar and if you don't like it just go to the bar next door, honestly, there's so many bars here. The service was excellent, a very friendly barmaid and the drinks were good though not the cheapest

Good reasonable pub grub and good for groups. Service was prompt and pleasant manner from Marion our server.
We had 2 sharer starters. Cheese nachos/BBQ chicken wings then we all had a different main from wraps to scampi/vegetable burger. The bottle of wine was a reasonable price too.
Only 1 downside was the downstairs toilets but were clean and tidy enough.

Had lunch with my daughter....we both ordered chilli....when it first came we thought the portion was small but eventually we found that the portion was perfect. Would definitely recommend. Food good...service good...price ok. What more could you ask for.

Visited for a Birthday lunch with friends. Been a few times before and again we were looked after really well by the friendly staff. Katsu curry was really tasty and cheesecake delicious. Will definitely return again.

Was treated very well - lots of choice. Well cooked not greasy breakfast. Lovely Bloody Shame to go with my plate. Cannot fault this place. Food is fresh and decent quality.

Really nice food and great service! I got the bbq ribs with sweet corn, fries and homemade coleslaw which was really casual served on a lunch tray but tasted amazing. I had the Belgian waffle with strawberries and ice cream for desert which was as you would expect was veryyyy nice! There was a really long list of cocktails to choose from and the ones that we went for were really tasty and well made. <br/><br/>Definitely one of my favourite things about it is its location in merchant square! It is One big courtyard which the back of a few restaurants face on to, and It's covered so you don't have to worry about getting cold. We went on a Monday night so it was relatively quiet but i could imagine the atmosphere being really good when it is packed on a busier night. We got fantastic service also and the waiter was really helpful

Came here for breakfast . Full Scottish Breakfast which consists Pork sausages , pork bacons , hash browns , scrambled eggs , beans was been served to us . Freshly made though it took 25 mins but it was worth the wait . Orange juice was freshly made . Staff was not presentable at all . Ambience was good . Over all , bar square is a good place to try the breakfasts

Fab. Lovely relaxing atmosphere during the week and bustling with people at the weekend. <br/><br/>I come here for my lunch with business clients during the week and with my friends at the weekend. <br/><br/>The staff are very welcoming and the cocktails are really nice!!!!!

For Lunch or Early evening meals. Having had a number of meals in Bar Square, I have yet to be disappointed. For any-one wanting a tasty meal, quick service and a people watching outlook this is the place. There is often some-thing going on in the sqaure and here you can sit and eat and just relax.

Don't get to eat out much but love the atmosphere in the Merchant City. Sat in the courtyard of Bar Square and had food of the lunch menu....couldn't believe how big the portions were for the price (very tasty). Staff were very attentive also. Lovely afternoon...good food, drink and people watching...what more could you ask for :) Thoroughly recommended by me.

Downhill. Had to change my opinion of this place after a really disappointing meal this week. went for vegetarian stir fry and basically got an onion broth - it was swimming in liquid and full of red onions & scallions, barf. a few other cheap 99p veggie stir pack from tesco supplements were thrown in for effect, sparingly i hasten to add. wouldn't go back again now

No.... Ate here last night. Really can't recommend it. The menu looked great and it's a nice looking place. We ordered fish cakes and bruschetta for starters. Both didn't taste well and were absolutely swimming in oil. Couldn't believe how much oil! Hungry as we were, we carried on. For main course we had chicken fajitas and penne arabiatta. The pasta was ordered as a vegetarian option but they put chicken in it and it had to be sent back. The replacement pasta was just cooked pasta in what seemed like a tomato water. The fajitas were coated in a sweet bbq sauce and not very tasty at all - more than half was left uneaten. Had to go and ask for cutlery and they got our bill wrong. Our waitress was nice though and trying to help. Probably won't be back.
