This mercat is a feast for your eyes and palate. It's been a while since last time and I was looking for some good Iberico Jamon. And found this place. They sell Jamon in different maturity levels. You can get some well priced cuts from some younger Jamon legs. Freshly sliced or pre-packed. But I was looking for a bit more mature piece of Jamon. And found it here as well. Matured for a full 5 (FIVE) years. This is like man-candy. I could eat these cuts all day...every day. But would be a bit hard on my budget. 100g cost just about 25 Euros. But it's worth every single cent! Came here three times in our four day stay in the city. The jamon is so full of flavours, it's hard to describe. Great balance between meat and fatty parts, wonderfully marbled. Every bite is just heaven. Get it cut freshly from the leg, tastes best. But that means you gotta eat it right there, if not the flavours are partly gone until you reach home (if so, get a pre-packed vaccum sealed package). It's a fantastic place to get some divine Iberico Jamon. And the staff is also very friendly and cuts the Jamon very professionally.
