Harper's Place

This new cafe appears to be getting a lot of local support! We went at lunchtime during school holidays and naturally, the wait for food hovered around 45 mins. The mega shake menu is worth coming for in itself and $8 kids sizes are excellent value. A good, expansive menu with burgers, hot dogs, curly fries and all day breakfast. Great coffee!! The decor and set up is simple. Cake counter amazing and staff are quick and apologetic with the wait for orders. As a new business, it's great to see such enthusiasm and creativity. We'll be back again soon.

Friendly staff. Burgers are amazing. Haven't tried any desserts other than cake but the desserts I've seen others have, look absolutely divine. Tip: check the whipped cream can in the fridge before ordering something with whipped cream. Last time we were there, it hadn't been rinsed after use and was yellow around the nozzle.

Do NOT come here if you want to wait an hour for food! Two other tables in the entire cafe and they come up to us after 45 minutes of waiting going "yeah sorry we've been busy and ran out of mushrooms". I felt so embarrassed to even comment as i was out for my birthday. Took them 30 minutes to bring out some orange juice then after 45 minutes we received the coffee. I would 100% be understanding if the entire cafe was full, but two other tables ? Wont be returning.

Decent food, Pathetic service, Sold me the sandwich clearly reading with avocado it was meant to come, the lady at the front said she didn't know there was none left. So the chef still decides to serve it anyway, Either this place has a deceiving chef or they just have pathetic communication. Would not recommend.

I am currently enjoying a lovely mug of cappuccino after devouring a truely delicious burger, relaxing with a cosy atmosphere and friendly banter with the staff. This place is that little gem of a cafe that only the locals know about and don't want to tell anyone because they don't want to lose their home away from home.
