Tipico Canario

This place is excellent. Lovely, friendly staff & delicious food. We stopped in towards the end of our holiday and quickly realised that we should have stopped in a lot sooner. We asked what was recommended that day and went with the sea bass and the goat. The rose wine was clean and fresh, the beer and the coffee strong and rich. Crispy well seasoned skin on the delicious sea bass and the tender and flavourful goat did not disappoint. Another group of dinners who left shortly after we arrived had the paella. It looked and smelt amazing. They highly recommended it. They said they came frequently and that it was one of their favourite restaurants. We will definitely be returning before we leave. The place is overlooked due to its location off the strip and being surrounded by numerous all inclusive hotels but it is well worth visiting. Our total bill for three courses, wine, beer and coffee came to less than we'd paid for regular service and average food in some of the better known restaurants on the strip. Please do not be put off by its well worn exterior and empty seats. You will not be disappointed. A special mention to the guy doing the (friendliest) hard sell on the street. He promised tasty food, friendly service and a range of traditional Canarian food. That is exactly what we got. Step away from your manic, bland, generic "all inclusive" buffet and relax with a REAL holiday atmosphere and REAL food. Fantástico.
