The Guildhall Tavern

Had 2 tempura fried prawns and 28 day aged sirloin steak and my kid had a fish all were excellent The steak arrived as requested medium rare with peppercorn sauce which was lovely but meat was done so well I struggled to use the sauce.the chips seemed to be triple fried very crunchy outside and melty inside. I would work on salad as came very basic like salad mix from Tesco bag with vinegrette sauce (this part really didn't match the quality of the rest dish). The 2 ladies from staff were very nice and very professional.

We went for dinner on a Monday night, it was a little quiet but comfortable and had a nice vibe. The service was great- the manager in particular had such a charming and relaxed approach to greeting guests that made you feel right at home. The food was amazing from start to finish. I had the mussels as a starter, my partner had the tuna. The tuna was delicious but a bit on the small side. I had the plaice for the main which was one of the fresh fish of the day- it was beautifully cooked and smothered in a rich dill butter. My partner had the sea bass pasta which was delightfully light. Overall it was a lovely dining experience and I’ll definitely be coming back

Well what can I say the best food In Poole a real hidden gem atmosphere service unbelievable and as good or if not better than smiths of wapping in London or Scott’s of Richmond first class the fish was unbelievable and the manager was full of knowledge and and so helpful can’t compliment them enough

We absolutely loved it here, best dining experience in a while! Attentive staff, and all the food was delicious - locally caught fish, amazing flavours. Cocktail bar great. They gave my grandparents a happy anniversary message on their dessert which was a lovely touch. Only small downside was the music was not great and did not match the ambience of the restaurant.
