Big Boy

Pretty good food, nice atmosphere decent prices. I had the fish dinner, they forgot the hush puppies (never got em) but fish was great. My boy had the double big boy didn't get the double, but he liked it, and moms got the biscuits and gravy, she said it was delicious but cold. Overall decent place they were definitely under staffed!

Called ahead to get a bag of Chicken Tortilla soup, let the lady know I would be there after 3. Also asked if i could have a side of the tortilla strips. Fast forward to about 3:30, I arrive to pick up my soup and I overhear some commotion from by the cooks window. I look over and two employees (waitresses) and another lady were having a very loud disagreement. The loudest of them all notices me and comes to the service desk… it was very hard to tell that this person was an actual Big Boy employee as she had no apron, no name tag, wearing jeans and a hooded sweatshirt that was from some in memory benefit. I told her what was needed, only for her to come back and tell me the strips still needed to be made… during which time I witnessed the other employee from earlier argument thrashing around, grab her belongings and made quite a distracting entrance. I looked around at other astonished customers and nearly the entire restaurant (5 tables total) were silent and staring. I clearly had missed the beginning of the argument… I asked a nearby table what I had missed and they said they weren’t sure other than they had been waiting for their food for over 30 minutes.. and thought their waitress may have just walked out. I got my soup and finally the tortilla strips, took them home only to discover that I will have to make another trip to Big Boy… as jessika a third employee failed to provide adequate amount of strips to suffice a large amount of soup. Very disappointed in the behavior I witnessed from the three employees working yesterday. If I did not have to get more strips (which are awesome) I would not have any desire to go back… makes me wonder where the manager was during this entire situation?? Years ago (20 or so) I worked for big boy… there was never a day that a manager was not on shift, walking the floor and interacting with customers and ensuring their employees are following work rules.

Inital sit down and order was good. Beverages and deserts came soon after. After that we never saw our waitress again. Despite her visiting the table next to us three times. She then disappeared out back for quite a while. When she reappeared she then starting clearing a different table. We finally went up to the cash register. She came over and seemed perturbed that we did not have a bill. I reminded her she never came back to see how we were doing. She then printed a bill without a beverage. She corrected it and we checked out. No apology for ignoring our table.

Big boy has always been a very dependable restaurant to get a good meal at a very reasonable price I've eaten here for 30 plus years and I have never had a criticism. Their quality is consistent throughout all the big boys which I have eaten at which speaks highly of the ownership they stick with strong guidelines and apparently police them quite often.

Stood and waited for 7 minutes while most of the restaurant was empty and at least three waitress watched us come in and stand. When we were asked if we have been served? I said no and were placed. We had to wait for another waitress for 15 more minutes. The waitress eventually made over to us..as we were leaving. Just plain laziness.i wont cry a tear if this place shuts down permanently.

Our family went here on the 6 of February and had the worst example. Let’s start with having to ask for our salads after waiting 20 minutes. Waited another 20-25 minutes for food one entree came back burnt and the other 6 came back cold , not cool. When told the waitress we woyld not be paying she told us good and have a good day in her sarcastic tone. Now the manager on duty apologized over and over even she was amazed how cold the food was. I know help is hard to find but this waitress just cost Big Boy customers who will never return and we have been coming here for years.

My wife and kids and I ate here tonight. Poor service. Took an hour from placing our order to Receiving it. My kids’ food was cold and my wife’s and I have sloppy looking food. Floors were not vacuumed around our table. Was given no explanation as to why our order took so long. One lady walked out because of the same reason and I should have done the same. Horrible experience.

Had the worst experience tonight. We waited 45 mins for a plain kids meal and when i finally went up to ask about how much longer they said it looks like they were about to start making it.. we ended up canceling our meal and leaving. Then on our way out the door the lady working the front called us, my 5 year old and I rude!!!
