The prices here have gotten a little out of hand since the pandemic, but the food is very good. The crispy garlic chicken is fantastic!
Also: prices on the menu are still lower than the prices they actually charge you - off by a couple bucks depending on what you order.
We were still able to have a nice meal for 2 for about $40 total - but we were dissuaded from side dishes and supplements like fried rice because of the rising prices.

Marvelous spot on historic Mott Street to grab some quick & delicious dim sum. Not enough space for the usual trolleys, & diners must climb stairs, but the menu is easy to negotiate, we quickly picked 4 options with our jasmine tea, were in and out in under 45 minutes, no waiting.

Very pleasantly surprised by how well service was and the food was even better. Prices here may not be as cheap as other establishments but still reasonable but food was above average to excellent. Will definitely be returning!!!!

Everything here is just awesome. Highly recommend the siu mai, bbq pork buns, and salt/pepper squid.

We searched for great dim sum in NYC Chinatown and found it! The crab fried rice was so tasty and we loved the hot and sour soup. It was sweeter tasting than most but it had an addicting flavor, it was full of fresh vegetables. I would highly recommend this restaurant for great Chinese food in NYC.

Authentic Chinese food with great offerings like Peking Duck, garlic pork ribs and braised beef brisket. You know it’s good because they offer you plates deliciously prepared but with a no frills approach eg the pork ribs actually come with rib bones and the whole duck is served up. Get the crab fried rice for a good ending dish!

The food was fantastic and quite pricey. It is the best Cantonese restaurant in the town.

I am totally give this restaurant a five-star rating. Having eaten here really made my fiancée and I feel like a true New York Chinese restaurant. We started our dinner here first with a Wonton soup like I love doing nearly every other Chinese restaurant I go out to eat. It was a great soup. But just what I expected of a wonton soup at a typical Chinese restaurant.
We then moved on to the Steamed Crab and Seafood Dim Sum. I could have eaten those forever. But we had to move on to a real dish to share with each other. I was leaning for a Seafood fried rice dish, like I usually do when I go to a Chinese restaurant anywhere I go. What made us change our mind was seeing our neighbors of the next table eating a Crab-based specialty dish which after we asked our server it’s name, she told us it was not on the menu because it was a special of the house.
Since our server’s English proficiency was limited, our neighbors who suggested us ordering the same dish they were sharing communicated her our gastronomical desires. So she and the other server brought us two options of crabs for them to order the kitchen cooking then. We chose the big over the smaller one. Because my fiancée and I were going to share it anyway. We thanked our neighbors for their assistance and waited patiently for our dish to come to us.
What a surprise it was, let me tell you all. I believe the crab was baked but what was under it made us feel like wanting more of it. Under the big crab there was a cape of garlic butter yellow rice mixed with veggies which I would say, it was to die for. There were also other veggies on the side of our big plate accompanying the big crab. These were delicious as well. That day my fiancé was not in the mood of drinking any alcoholic beverages, so she drank the free house hot green tea. Instead, I indulged in their delicious Tsingtao Chinese beer. I must have drank about five of them. We did not eat any dessert in this restaurant because we wanted to try the Chinese Ice Cream Factory located a few blocks away. I absolutely recommend this magnificent restaurant to all lovers of Chinese cuisine who want to go to NYC Chinatown.

Ping’s is the best seafood in Chinatown!
Food: 9.5/10. Excellent portion sizes. XO sauce comes at the table. We got the mixed tofu and seafood stone pot, BBQ quail, shrimp dumplings (har gow), and XO sauce stir fried rice rolls. Everything was amazing! The seafood was fresh and well seasoned, and the stone bowl kept the seafood medley warm for the whole meal. The XO rice rolls were SO, so good! The BBQ quail was well cooked, tender, and super flavorful. Just so good - you have to come here!
Service: 10/10. Boss/manager? welcomed us in and sat us down. Very nice guy! Service was quick and efficient. Got our food in like 15 mins after ordering.
Atmosphere: 9/10. Nicely decorated, but nothing crazy like Congee Village. Super clean bathrooms though, which gets a HUGE plus!
This is the best seafood I’ve had in Chinatown, by far. Best food overall as well! Not as crowded as places like Shanghai 21 or Uncle Lou’s as well. Seasoning is a little on the lighter side, but I think that with the provided XO sauce and soy sauce, you can control the flavor to what you like.
Highly recommend!
